I think the privacy laws that are needed to deal with this sort of thing are seriously lagging behind the enforcement against people who "fuck with drones". The few cases I saw where someone, justifiably in my view, shot them down have resulted in arrest for the shooters who were charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. I agree we cant have people shooting guns in the air in their yards...but something has to be done. I had a neighbor and his kid knocking on my door asking us to retrieve a drone that had crashed on a roof right outside my daughters window. I was pissed, thinking "wtf was thing doing right outside my daughters window?" Wife thought I over-reacted. Tho, if I used a tee-shirt launcher to fire a net that would tangle the rotors whilst wearing a mask, then retrieving and disposing of the evidence post haste....what can they prove. |
