Cut their kicker, she missed an extra point. Final score 13-0.

Close game.
Remember, goal differential matters.

Close game. Remember, goal differential matters. Didnt get to watch it, but I heard talk about running up the score and excessive celebrations until the last score (against a much weaker team)? I know goal differential matters, but sounds like many people thought they acted inappropriately. I kinda lik watching the womens game sometimes because they seemed not to have many of the bullsh*t elements the men's game did, frankly. Just curious what the "real" soccer fans thought.

I'm of the Belidick school for this. Want us to stop scoring? Stop us. That's gamesmanship. Celebrating the 8th, 9th, 10th, etc. goals is bad sportsmanship. Two different things.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Just knock off the choreographed celebrating horse-shite past a certain point.

Seems like they have succeeding in politicizing a team that was universally lauded just a few years ago. Now, people are like "fuck these idiots" because theyve essentially identified themselves as typical lib poseurs. I'm guessing they will handle this controversy with a "we are being singled out for criticism because of our gender/Trump hate/sexual orientation, the standard playbook. Way to make a sucky USA Mens team look good by comparison.

Meh. Winners get to celebrate. World Cup goals don't come around too much in a lifetime for some of these gals. Probably the highlight of a lifetime after decades of training.
Bad form for 6th graders I guess, but I can't work up any outrage.
Also, soccer.

Also, we need the goals, we have to play Sweden

Bad form for 6th graders I guess, but I can't work up any outrage. Also, soccer. Agree to disagree. Just because you can doesnt mean you should. Apparently there were players/coaches involved who had been to the WC before and had scored before who could have toned it down a bit, which would have demonstrated some sort of class (and leadership) especially when a prominent player is very publicly protesting Trump for his "act." (and those goals still count down the road if they need them). Also, soccer... which many little girls who play are watching and learn from. That was a missed opportunity for USA Womans soccer imho. (admittedly I'm in my 20th year of attending kids sports and boorish players/coaches/parents with no class....has been a pet peeve of mine.) Whatev's.

I have no problem with running up the score, since goal differential is key. Dont want scores run up, take goal differential out of the equation.
What I do kinda have a problem with is veteran players celebrating wildly after the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th goal in a shut out against a vastly inferior team. Your first WC goal making it 11-zip, sure celebrate. But if you've been there before, just relax.

There's a chick from Rockville Centre on the team - maybe 32's daughter? Crystal Dunn. Great girl, great family... no relation. You sure about that?
