Siskel and Ebert gave it two thumbs down? I just looked it up. I have no recollection of the movie or the massacre. Terrible sh*t, man. And people bash this country. I'll always remember that movie for this scene..

I’m gonna guess it’s Hillary’s fault. No but Bill certainly played a role. I’m sure it wouldn’t have polled well.
He was too busy getting his pile polished in the White House by a white horse.

You guys are aware of course of genocide happening right now that we aren’t doing anything about. Indeed there is. Rwanda was different. We had assets on the ground and by my count several thousand western troops were flown in to evacuate the white folk. Of course they had strict orders not to engage the genocidaires, the majority of whom had nothing more than machetes. Something could have been done. Would it have saved everyone? No. It would have a lot of them and sent a clear message.

Our problem is we never seem to have the will at the time. Risking troops to save people who don’t look like us will never be popular. I’d guess the people who could point to Rwanda on a map would be about 1 percent. But make a Hollywood movie about it and we all care so much!

Well, hindsight is always 20/20 and I tend not to dapple in alternate history. I guess the point I was trying to make is that it wouldn't have taken a whole lot to stop it and most of the assets were already on the ground saving the white folk. At any rate, I learned an awful lot, not just about the genocide, but also about how the two sides are trying to live together. Funny how they can manage to live side by side after one group killed 800,000 to 1 million of the other in just 3 months and we can't get past orange man bad.

Term limits are our savior. And the pendulum. The pendulum always swings.
