Mid season mock?
The jets suck worse than a geriatric transvestite hooker.

Mid season mock? The jets suck worse than a geriatric transvestite hooker. So worse than Bruce Jenner? Omg. Things are really bad in jets land. 😂

Unclear why the Jets should let Jenkins walk? Is he asking for a ton of money?

Unclear why the Jets should let Jenkins walk? Is he asking for a ton of money? He’ll absolutely ask for a lot of money. I’m on the fence about keeping him. It’s going to take $13-14 million a year to re-sign Jenkins. Last offseason the Packers gave Preston Smith $13 million a year and Za’Darius Smith $16.5 million a year. Prior to that in Washington and Baltimore, they had similar production to Jenkins. Jenkins has consistently gotten better and better every year and I could absolutely see him being a 10-12 sack a year guy similar to Melvin Ingram if he played across from an elite passrusher. He has 5 sacks in 7 games and has surpassed Leo’s career sack total despite playing 20 less games. Anyhoo, you can pretty much toss this mock (at least the draft aspect) out the window. The Jets are going to win at least 2-3 more games and finish 4-12 or 5-11. Andrew Thomas will be out of reach. And if that’s the case, I’m re-signing Beachum to a 1-2 year deal and taking either Jerry Jeudy or CeeDee Lamb in the 1st round.

He’s probably the best WR to come out of the draft in many years. Then take OL with every pick from 2nd rd on.

Pretty much The Jets can still overhaul the OL without committing their 1st round pick to it. In addition to the draft, we’re projected to have around $54 million in cap space. If we finish the season outside the Top 5 in the draft order, then re-sign Beachum, make Brandon Scherff our top priority in FA as well as adding another quality OL (Joe Thuney, Jack Conklin, Cody Whitehair, etc) then finally grab a potential #1 WR in the 1st round like Jeudy or Lamb and continue working on the OL afterwards. If we don’t trade Adams, then hopefully one of the top centers like Tyler Biadasz or Creed Humphrey is there at the top of Round 2. Or use one of our 3rd round picks to jump into the late 1st to secure one.

Agreed, if the Jets arent drafting top 3, any chance of Chase Young or Andrew Thomas is pretty much 0%. Jeudy or Lamb, or even the CB Okudah could be options in that 5-10 range. Tristan Wirfs the OT from Iowa could be an option too. Ironically any wins over the Redskins, Bengals and Dolphins solidify them in the top 5 and push us down. And if the Giants draft ahead of us, no way they pass on Thomas (I would think!) As long as its not Delpit - another Safety from LSU in the first round

What about drafting an interior defensive lineman? Shouldn't that be a priority? It seems to have been every year up until now, so why not keep a good thing going?

I think my top four, excluding QBs for obvious reasons, would be:
Chase Young, Edge Andrew Thomas, OT Jerry Jeudy, WR Jeff Okudah, CB
Assuming two teams drafting ahead of us go QB, one of those players should be available where we pick? And they all fill big time needs for the Jets

And they all fill big time needs for the Jets I want to see one of these 4 in a Jets uniform: Andrew Thomas Chase Young Jerry Jeudy CeeDee Lamb Young is the only defensive player that I would be on board with. I realize that CB is a pressing need, but I’m tired of this offense being all but ignored. Sign a relatively cheap veteran stopgap like Jimmy Smith or someone and draft a corner with one of our 3rd’s. Have an open competition between guys like Roberts, Austin and the rookie for the #2 spot. Okudah is a nice prospect, but I’d much rather give Darnold a legit #1 receiver for the next decade if Thomas and Young are gone (which they most likely will be).
