Could we finally have a coach that knows how to finish a game strong rather than coasting to a loss?

As opposed to Gase's motto: "All DUI all the time." Good riddance. At least the Jets have a guy who doesn't present himself as a crazy clown. Now Salah needs to get to work fixing this train wreck. Actions speak loader than words. In his conference he said it will take time to fix the Jets but gave no time frame. Smart move on his part. No sense painting his self into a corner but with the draft capitol, FA money and the wild card his reputation and demeanor is a hit with players should move the process along. I'm not saying a player the Jets target would take less money to play in New York, but selling a stable, organized franchise which knows what it's doing, has to be desirable over a slightly higher offer from a dysfunctional franchise with a negative culture.

Listening to him and how genuine he seems to be, I found it odd he painted such an awesome picture of our power structure. Obviously he's not gonna say the opposite, but he seemed adamant that this is the place he wanted to be just through the interview process. He could have gone anywhere, but chose us. Kept saying the communication between Doucglas, Johnson and Heymie (I'm starting to doubt this guy exists. Never seen him) was amazing, felt like a family..etc. Our Jets??

Almost makes you question his judgement. Haha. I think Heymie is the business guy.

I don't know anything about Heymie but you have a Muslim and a Jew on the same page, so there's hope for mankind. The Johnson's seem gullible, but don't seem like pricks, which is probably why the Jets have been so bad for so long. I'm just spit balling here but I bet they are very likeable, treat people well and aren't aloof jerks. Douglas and Salah seem to be cut of the same cloth and Douglas is probably thrilled to death to have someone who is competent.....and not have to stare into google eyes when he meets with the Jets HC.

I agree.I'm sure when you meet the Johnsons they come across as really likeable I can see that. The incompetence doesn't slap you in the face immediately I guess.

I'm just got glad they finally wised up and said "You know what, Joe? You got this." and let HIM select his Head Coach.
And I like what I see so far from Rob.

A lot of great things happened.
Joe Douglas took command of the team.
Joe Douglas took the reigns & found the head coach that he wanted.
Saleh will report to Douglas.
Saleh hired his own staff.
The organization seems to be finally heading in the right direction. I would like to see things keep moving in the right direction & build a culture.
Suddenly the Jets are starting to earn respect.

You had me until the last sentence.
Let's hold our horses in that regard.
But I agree that things are FINALLY starting to look "up" instead of us treading water....with the water going downhill...

Not saying they have respect but they are starting to get it. Listen to the way they media has been talking about them. Not like the laughing stock of the league now. That is the start of respect. You want to call it looking up, go ahead. But that is the start of respect. The trick is to keep it trending up.
