From all the quotes I'm reading he seemed to have been genuinely appreciated.

This is hands down the most snakebit operation on the face of the universe. Seriously. Nothing but doom. As green said.... RIP good sir. Wtf.
Also bicycles needs to be illegal on road. Have said it for years. Go to the trails etc. Or even the boardwalk. That's just sad man

Have said it for years. Go to the trails etc. Or even the boardwalk. That's just sad man That's victim blaming of the highest order. Holding the people driving multi-ton steel objects would be more effective; hell, classifying it as a collision instead of an accident would be a good start. I get people who get hit all the time in the ER, it's always classified as pedestrian/cyclist struck. Words matter. These 'accidents' are almost always a result of careless or distracted driving. The amount of disregard I see exhibited for people on the rode during my rides is always shocking, and I do go out of my way sometimes to call people out on their bad behavior. More often than not they end up feeling bad; other times they are a bit angry but my size and the obvious camera on my bars quell that a bit. Unfortunately, the LE and the courts are stuck in this loop of "well, shit happens" and no changes are made. Not saying that's not the case sometimes, but more often I would say it's bad driving. Since that's a privilege, it needs to be treated as such.

And the guy claimed he didn't hit me, didn't see me hit the ground, and felt completely justified in driving away. "I've been driving for xx years and I've never hit anyone" was his defense. Also said it looked like I was going fast (downhill, shocker and, relative), but apparently didn't see a need to make any adjustments/accomodations for that observation.

I have bikes and Motor cycles coming up on me all the time doing stupid sh*t and many times only see them at the last minute. You imagine all bike riders to be like you...they are not. Just sayin, old pal. Sadly, bikes and cars and MC's are always gonna be a bad mix on the road whether we like it or not.

It's even worse now with the motorized stuff because there is all the speed without any of the effort, which leads to more recklessness. Literally almost got clipped by some idiot swerving OFF the sidewalk and onto the road to avoid a pedestrian. Not sure what the answers are, but one of them is more accountability, across the board. Lol, yup!!! And the guy claimed he didn't hit me, didn't see me hit the ground, and felt completely justified in driving away. There's been a boom in bicycles, electrical bikes, scooters, ...etc. The shit I see people do is ridiculous. I've been riding a motorcycle for almost 30 years without an accident, and it's gotten really bad with the amount of 2 wheeled traffic. I regularly see bikes/scooters go right through red lights...at least act like it's a stop sign. When I'm on my bike I know I'm vulnerable and ride accordingly even when I'm splitting lanes. :-)
