The tampering rule in its current form is really stupid. It's impossible to express admiration of another high caliber player? That doesn't make sense to me. If Woody had said, "Revis is a great player," then there would be no issue of tampering. There is no punishment for admiring other players. However, Woody said, "I'd love for Darrelle to come back," which wasn't even an expression of Revis' playing just an outright statement that the Jets would consider resigning Revis if they had the opportunity. That is a statement Revis' agent can take into negotiations with the Pats to show another team wants him and try to play one team against the other to drive up the contract price.

Tom Brady is Gisele's lesbian partner.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Altering the equipment used to gain an advantage over an opponent is cheating, plain and simple. No different from corking a bat or a pitcher doctoring a baseball. Really puts things in perspective... What if a team in the ALCS won game 6 to go on to the World Series and then was found their ENTIRE LINEUP used corked bats... I wonder what would happen here??? Oh obviously it would be lol'd off and chocked up to "Oh that funny Bill! Always looking for genius way to stay a step ahead of the opponent, that's why he's the best after all!" Yeah fuckin right! Time for this fucking cocksucker to be BANNED. FOR LIFE. Nothing but cheating and scandals and SERIAL KILLING!! N NEVER FORGET!!

I do find the ball tampering to be absolutely disgusting. Not just that a team can be so ... evil is the only way I can think to put it. But the fact that this gets let go time and time again, that these little things (though cheating in a playoff game is no little thing) keep adding up and the NFL basically slaps them on the wrist and lets them continue their shenanigans truly makes me believe that perhaps this is all manipulated, if not rigged.
Assumption: Patriots are probably top in the league in revenue generation. Their success helps the league, which participates in revenue sharing. As a system of economics the NFL is essentially run in share-cropper/feudalism. They even use a shield as their crest like in the middle ages. A tax exempt organization (kingship) helps rule the peace between revenue sharing teams (sharecroppers), which themselves are owned by families, the "lords" of the feudal system. If the Jets get a harsher penalty than the Patriots for this, I will be appalled.

That is a statement Revis' agent can take into negotiations with the Pats** to show another team wants him and try to play one team against the other to drive up the contract price. And the agent is going to be able to say that when he sits down with the Pats*. There will be others interested, it's Revis. Nothing changed by Woody blurting out he would love to have him back. It's fucking stupid. Cheating, again, is a different story.
