If they won some games this year due to this, they might have been the 4 seed and might already be out of the playoffs. People keep talking about the Colts game but I bet they have been doing this for awhile. There's probably no available proof that balls from previous games were deflated, and I'm sure the Patriots (with the help of Gooddell, probably) will claim this was a one-time thing -similar to how they claimed that the videotaping only occurred for a limited time and didn't affect any playoff games or Super Bowls, even though common sense says otherwise.

Common sense prevails. Along with the history of lies and cheating making anything they claim suspect

Yes. I mentioned it earlier in the thread. They moved it up unexpectedly from tomorrow. Strange, but could be because of what BB said this morning and TB needs to get out and defend himself. And here is what I expect to see/hear from Brady this afternoon. He will admit that it was his fault. Some sort of misunderstanding with the equipment guy. Cold, wet weather. Wanted to make sure the ball was inflated to the low end of the league's acceptable range. Equipment guy must have misunderstood and deflated the balls. Honest mistake. Misunderstanding. Never happened before. He is sorry. etc. etc. In a couple of days we will hear that the league will fine Brady. They will not find evidence that BB or the Pats were aware or involved. No penalty to the team. End of story. Case closed. On to Arizona. This is all choreographed between TB & BB. TB falls on his sword to save the Pats from any significant penalty.

No way they get away with that kind of nonsensical story.
The HC is responsible for all players and coaches. It's how Payton was suspended a year

There is so much that can be made out of this....a softer football allows for the players to grip the ball better, easier to catch, better to throw. If there has been speculation by other teams, and other games...The Pasts definitely benefited...how couldn't they? This is a game of inches, turnovers are so important in todays game. If by deflating the football, the Pats were able to hold on to just one ball that would have been a fumble, then their entire record this season is a sham. How do they deserve home field? You tell me if the Pasts vs Ravens game is played in Baltimore, there isn't a different outcome.
This deal stinks...and the league, if they let them off easy on this one will be laughed at nationally. I think the hammer will come down hard on The Pasts.

Not a chance brady admits culpability, especially not before the SB. The pats can't risk not having brady in the SB. There's no chance that Brady lacks culpability. Even if he had no involvement in the decision to deflate the balls or the act of deflating them--which I find dubious--there is no way an NFL QB in his 30s doesn't know that the balls are underinflated by 15%. At a minimum he took advantage of a rule violation that he knew was a rule violation because he told us just the week beforehand how skilled the Pats are in reading the rulebook.

So the most egotistical, maniacal control freak of a Coach and a potential future HOF quarterback had nothing to do with or knowledge of 11 conspicuously deflated footballs? They're going to pin this on some poor ball boy, aren't they?
And that will go over as well as Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men when they called him out. If everyone follows orders and people live by a very rigid structure in that organization then there is NO WAY a ball boy or equipment manager would, on his own, simply under inflate some footballs.
SparklePony ordered the Code Red.
No doubt in my mind.

I don´t think the Pats will be punished. There was something about both interviews but especially stroke face.
Everyone is going to deny everything and Goodell is going to say that the NFL could not find wrong doing by a singular party. If the press and fans push the situation it will be blamed on a hired hand who guarded the balls or something. I just have the god awful feeling it will be brushed under the carpet.
The reason I think this is because Goodell is very cosy with Kraft, who knows how close. Goodell will not want this as a blight on his time in the NFL. It will all disappear.

There's no way that Goodell can just sweep this under the rug. Not after he completely fumbled the Ray Rice case and then constantly preached all of this shit about the "integrity of the game" and "the shield is bigger than the players and coaches" and all this other shit.
