I'm looking forward to this more than the SuperBowl.

Joe was the man...can you imagine what he could have done if not for that knee injury at 'Bama?

Thanks for the hot tip, Trades. Required viewing for all Jet fans. Know your history. Awhile back guy starts a thread on Joe Namath, not one post. Same with Veterans Day, 2,3 post. Just a shame. Visit "Bing in Buffalo's", Jets Day In History daily.

joe willie certainly put the afl and the nfl on the map. the big apple needed a lift after the fall of the giaints and the yankees and namath was right there to take the spotlight. and he liked the spotlight. it would be very interesting to see some of today's qb's like tommy boy wilt in the heat. and of course that jets team was really loaded. they had some extrordinary players like maynard, sauer, hill, philbin, snell, boozer, baker, rasmussen. have recent jets teams ever that relative level of talent? maybe the mid 80's team comes close.

Watched it last night.
Didn't realize how nimble he was in college before injuring his knee. Also surprising was the way he was treated by defenders near the end of his career. Guys were litterally placing him on the ground instead of blasting him.

I thought the coolest thing they showed was in the first episode about 40 minutes in. They showed a 5 second clip of a camera facing Joe Willie during what appears to be warmups before a game. Joe was a about 10 yards from the camera and he fires a ball at the lens. At the last moment, a WRs hands come in front of the camera to snag the ball. Gave a you a great sense (especially in HD) as to what it was like for Joe Namath to throw a pass to you without it stinging your hands.
