Wifne's been complaining about the clothes dryer claiming its putting dark marks on the white towels. Toilet paper works just as good. And your wife won't complain as much.

Wifne's been complaining about the clothes dryer claiming its putting dark marks on the white towels. Finally got a repair guy to come he tells us buy a new one, its not worth fixing. We buy a new one and continue to use old one until its delivered. Guys come today, 20 mins past the "four hour window" haul away the old one, hook up the new one. Turns it on. BANG BANG BANG BANG. Guy looks inside and says "wow, the whole tub is disconnected. Weird". Now I have no dryer and am hoping they can deliver another one Sat. This is two days after my wifes Mac craps out and we had to replace that. Just wrote a check for 14,900 to the town for school taxes and thats only a part of my property taxes. I may have to get a fackin job. I know a guy that needs a septic tank installed.

When last kid is out tho... I would say taxes are the number one reason why people leave Nassau County. It was definitely a huge factor when I left 24 years ago. What I hear from friends still out there is that it has gotten worse....they said so many houses have been converted into two families. Any thoughts since you've been there a long time?

Can't be all bad

Any thoughts since you've been there a long time? It's starting to slide. Good for now, cracks are showing. I'm in Nassau nearly 28 years. Already moved once in the county due to section 8 housing popping up behind me. Next move will be the fuck out of here.

On a serious note, that is what I am hearing from some I know that still live in Levittown but sometimes the taxes are even higher. They now have three story, three family houses in Levittown and it blows my mind. Like it wasn't crowded enough a quarter century ago. And some of my friends that were fortunate enough to make it up to the northern parts of the island are paying up to 30K per year.

Next move will be the fuck out of here. You'll be glad when you finally get out. Everyone I know that still is there is miserable and broke no matter how much they make. On the contrary, everyone I know that has left has been relatively happy and wouldn't look back on their decision to leave. The bigger question is where to go, and if you find that place I'd visit several times before uprooting after that long of a time. FL was the first state I moved to and it's a great state to live in except for the climate...at least for me. I've settled on the high desert SW and feel like I've belonged out here my entire life.
