Listen, I was just as thrown by the cliffhanger, but are we really saying that an otherwise good episode is now shit just because we didn't see who got popped?
I guess my thing is, not knowing who got rocked doesn't change my viewing of the show any more than knowing. If we saw who he hit, the cliffhanger would have been "are they alive, or dead?" There was still going to be a "what happens next?" feel regardless, so I guess that's why I can forgive the lame ending. The build-up and JDM's performance in those final 15 were enough for me to say, acceptable finale.

In the comic, he bashes Glenn until his head is basically jelly. It's also essential to show that level of brutality to demonstrate what a ruthless motherfucker Negan is. He's supposed to make the Governor look like a cupcake in comparison. Even to this day, Glenn being killed by Negan is the most shocking and brutal event in the comic series. They had the perfect chance to pull that off the other night and fucked it all up with a lame ass cliffhanger.

I can admit, a final image of Glenn with his face bashed in and Maggie screaming...yeah that might have been a better ending.

That's what they should've done If they were willing to show Herchel getting his head hacked off by the Governor, why not show Glenn getting his head bashed in by Negan? And I'm going to be beyond pissed if it ends up being Eugene or anyone but Glenn.

Seroiusly - who thinks AMC would let them show someone getting killed like that? They have a problem when the characters curse.

Just curious on your thoughts on Glenn's death and the latest group of villains.

Just hope they don't drag it out forever. Glenn dying is essential IMO. Having Negan kill someone like Eugene or Abraham won't have nearly the same impact. Even in the comic, at least to me, you always felt that besides Rick and Carl, Glenn was the only other "untouchable" member of the group. So when they killed him (and in such brutal fashion) it was genuinely shocking. Even Lori and the baby's deaths weren't as surprising as Negan taking Lucille to Glenn's noggin.

Like I said, they showed the Gov hacking away at Herchel's neck with Michonne's katana...so why not? If you want to drive home the point of Negan being a totally unapologetic badass and easily the greatest threat that the group has ever faced...then much like in the comics, that would've surely done it.

Having it be Glenn also advances the story line for Maggie's character development in the comics as well, and probably the TV show as well.

Yep They've already showed her initial confrontation with the leader of the Hilltop. A major ramification of Glenn's death was Maggie becoming "stronger" and eventually taking over while Rick and Co. mostly remain in Alexandria.

The boundary set up by the Whisperers was pretty shocking, I felt. Although different because you didn't actually see the bloodshed (IIRC).

I may be reading too much into it, but considering we had the audio during the clubbing scene ("ooh took it like a champ"..etc), you can't here any other characters. I'd guees if it had been Glenn, we would have heard Maggie screech, and vice versa. Or if it was Michonne or Carl, you would have heard Rick scream.
All that makes me feel like it's Eugene or another secondary character.

Or maybe they don't even know who they're gonna kill off yet.
