I also think he will be franchised, but if Manning retires, that could change the dynamics and team priorities.

I'd rather Geno throw to Thomas than to a shittier WR. He's still an upgrade and would be an amazing weapon for when we find our future QB. With that said he's not coming here next year so it doesn't matter.

Every team in the NFL will roll out the red carpet for DT if he's not franchise tagged. I'd love to see him in green and white.
Problem is, he's most likely getting tagged.

Right. The Jets are not targeting a defensive tackle, and Bkeacher Reoort has no better inside information than the rest of us. It's so ridiculous, what do people think Maccagnan is leaking who he wants to target? Is it someone JUST HIRED by Maccagnsn that is leaking info? The idea that the Jets' true intentions are getting exposed four weeks after a new GM us hired is laughable. DT = Demaryius Thomas, not defensive tackle. Its a bogus rumor for sure - no ones leaking info, and its basically based on Decker's vocal recruiting, the poss retirement of Mr. Forehead, and the obvious facts that we need more talent on offense, and that IF he was to hit the market, he's a stud WR - why WOULDNT they roll out the red carpet, like everyone else would? Its Bleacher Report throwing shit against the wall, seeing what sticks.

Problem is Denver isn't going to let him walk. Peyton is on borrowed time, could retire or die at any time, need to keep skill players around for him.

Peyton is coming back for another season. So I can see Demarious getting the franchise tag.
This is really stupid either way. Just draft Amari Cooper and be done with the WR position.

Who's going to throw him the ball? Geno? Bwa-hahahahahahaha Who are the alternatives, exactly? And by that, I mean realistic alternatives. Matt Moore? Josh McCown? Jake Locker? Jason Campbell? Unless the Jets wind up with Mariota or Winston, then the Jets are most likely looking at Geno or some mediocre journeyman at QB for the foreseeable future. Might as well surround whoever it is at QB with as many weapons as possible. The Thomas rumor is bogus because there's no way in hell that Denver let's him walk, especially with Peyton coming back for another year. They have one more season until their window completely slams shut. They aren't letting a Top 5 player at his position, not to mention Peyton's #1 target walk out the door. If anything, I hope there's truth to the rumor in that Maccagnan and Co. realize that the skill positions need a major overhaul and someone like Parker or White becomes more of a possibility at #6, especially if Cooper is gone. Disagree. When you pay your QB over $20 million, you need to make tough decisions at some other positions. In fact, I think it's more likely that Denver keeps DT if PM retires.

Of course the Jets will roll out the red carpet for D. Thomas, but so will a number of other teams. In any event, I don't see the Donkeys letting Thomas test the market. If they can't agree on a long-term deal, they'll franchise-tag him and then worry about Julius later. This is the only way this will play out. If he's on a team other than Denver next year I'll be eat the dog shit of someone's choosing, fresh or old. Someone remember this post, just in case
