I'de like to see Powell be more involved with the offence.Last year poor guy barley seen the field. Now if we sign Spiller poor guy will be in the shadows once again.I like Powell he plays hard seems to be a good teammate he could absolutley be a starter somewhere in the leauge iam curious to see if the jets let him walk or resign him cause i think hes a FA? I like Spiller but he is injury prone and hasnt played a full season for a couple of seasons now.Ide just like to see Powell get a fair share of touches if hes brought back i think he could be useful in Gaileys system even more so then Ivory.

Yes he is a FA but I don't agree that he can be a starter in this league. He is mediocre at everything, he is not bulky enough to run in between the tackles and he is not fast enough to run on the outside. He might succeed on a team say like Denver who has a elite offense splitting carries but on teams like Jacksonville as a 3 down back it would be the opposite. I like Powell but I would sign him as a backup.

Cimini says that there's a fair degree of interest in Powell if the Jets don't re-sign him. Who knows whether that's Powell's agent trying to drum up something in his client, though.

Question, who is this league source? What is a league source and why the fuck would a league source have any real knowledge of who the Jets will or won't go after? As fact?
Another of those "the Jets released a back, Spiller is a FA, Spiller was drafted by Chan and Chan now works for the Jets" made up stories based on logic, not fact

spiller seems like a need at rb now that cj is gone. spiller brings some change of pace ability to the position and is a better pass receiver than ivory. and if they use fre agency to get a back then they don't have to draft one. as for the rest of their needs, they need oline especially rg or rt. and while mangold and brick should be good for a couple more seasons getting depth isn't a bad thing. the dline is not as set as many think. ellis and coples just don't seem to be as good as they've been touted and wilk is going into a walk year. the only given player on the dline is richardson and harrison but only if he accepts the tender. they also need some lb's. pace will still be around and babin. harris may go free agent. the secondary will also need some upgrades and depth. wilson is gone and there's no guarantee that milliner or macdougal will come back strong. milliner especially so because his was an achilles. it's going to take lots of time to get his leg strength back.
