There is almost no downside; if he wins the job, we would have been in worse trouble than if he is not here; if he is a back-up, you have a good 'locker-room veteran'; if he doesn't make the team; no loss.
It will be interesting to see, but hopefully sloppy play and stupid penalties won't be tolerated by the new regime so if he acts up or plays poorly, he is benched/gone. Actually a good test for the new coaches.

Good signing
Dennis Waszak Jr. @dwaz73 Colon's 1-year deal to remain with #Jets is for vet minimum of $870,000 plus a signing bonus.
Willie will start at the right guard and Carpenter at left and the crap that Idzik drafted will be there for back ups unless we can sign better back ups.

He shouldn't see the field. Good locker room presence. Bad guard. Insurance in case someone gets hurt.

He's one of the problems on the o-line. it's the whole right side that's wrong and then throw in winters and oboushi. i'll give oboushi and winters some slack because they're rooks or first year but not colon. idzik needed to replace colon and he should've made a better effort to sign howard. giacomini is a step backward as far as rt is concerned. where's this guy carpenter going to fit in? hasn't he been signed?

Yeah, I don't know all the inner workings of an oline really, I just know people are talking about guys moving over here or there... Maybe that will help. But that fuckin guy with his constant false starts and personal fouls... Can't be having that shit. I really believe Idzik came in to sabotage the Jets.

Right now its looking like: LT: Brick LG: Carpenter, Aboushi C: Mangold RG: Colon, Winters, Dozier RT: Breno RG and RT could be pretty much anyone out of Aboushi, Colon, Winters, Dozier and Breno...so at least we have options
