Fitzpatrick was a trade, not a signing.
I picked Gilchrist because Safety was just as big a glaring need as cornerback. The corners actually settled in when Marcus Williams stepped up. They are much better now, of course!!! But the safety play last year started off bad and got worse as the year progressed. By the time Allen was moved back to safety, his confidence was gone. Pryor looked more and more lost as the season went on and Landry, I never thought he was any good. Now, Pryor can play in the box, where he's comfortable and can be an impact player and Gilchrist can play center field OR in the slot on dime packages. Bowles like to play 6 DB's very often and now we have the personnel to do so.

I guess I should have included Marshall and called it acquisitions. I totallly agree with you 1000% on the need for safety and what a disaster that position was last year.

Who voted for fitzpatrick and why? Because he's exactly what the team needs - a smart game manager QB that doesn't make mistakes. With the Jets defense, all Fitzpatrick has to do his not make any Hot guy I'd like to blowed mistakes and this team sleepwalks to 9-10 wins.

Yeah because most nfl games these days typically end up with scores 10-3 or 10-7.

Revis made us a lot better while it severely weakened the Cheats. Also, as much as media wants to, they can't dis it even as they try because of how much they were blowing him 2 weeks ago. That has to be #1. I picked GilChrist as #2 after someone posted that highlight vid. Best secondary in football overnight... with this D-line... who needs Viagra?! bob kraft?

Cro + Revis. We have a SB-wnning coach who was a safety and has his pulse on the most important part of the defensive modern game. We bring back two players who a) know each other, b) know the division c) know Tom Brady and d) are, in aggregate, awesome.
With Skrine and Gilchrist in the mix, is there a better secondary in the AFC??

Goodell is scrambling for ideas on how to suspend half the d-line and secondary for the flats matchups. Maybe have us play weeks 1 and 2 and suspend Marshall for shoe choice the first 4 games.

With the Jets defense, all Fitzpatrick has to do his not make any deliciously homoerotic mistakes and this team sleepwalks to 9-10 wins. Yeah because most nfl games these days typically end up with scores 10-3 or 10-7. I was looking at Fitpatrick's numbers and now I am concerned he is not much of an upgrade. He has started 89 (played in 96) games and his record is 33-55-1 for a winning percentage of .376. Geno has started 29 (played in 30) and his record is 11-18 for a winning percentage of .379. Worse yet when you consider the following is the game average for each. Fitzpatrick 18.25 completions 30.32 attempts 60.2% 200.76 yards 1.4 TD's (passing and running) 1.05 Int .55 fumbles Smith 15.53 completions 27 attempts 57.5% 185.7 yards 1.07 TD's (passing and running) 1.13 Int .43 fumbles I thought that perhaps Fitz's ball security was much better now than when he was younger, but he played in 11 games in 2013 and had 12 Interceptions and 9 fumbles. There seems to be quite bit of evidence that season 10 for a 32 year old Amish Rifle, might not be as good as year 3 of a 24 year old Geno Smith provided Geno improves even slightly.

Our defense this year is going to put the 2000 Ravens to shame. This will be one of those rare years that defense alone could win the Super Bowl. It's seriously that good, ESPECIALLY if they draft a pass rusher in the draft. There, I said it. I am honestly predicting the Jets to have a good shot at winning the Super Bowl this year. Regardless of who is behind center.

Mine is Gilcup by far. I've been lusting for a good FS on the team and was teased briefly with Ed Reed. Value for what we paid and a huge need filled makes this the best signing for me. You can pick two Got to go with Talley lol...jk Revis obviously because of the impact he will have not just in his play but how it weakened the Pats significantly. My second pick is Fitz he will either push Geno and help him get better or he will be a solid starter this year...low risk acquisition as well!

@connor_J_Hughes Broken Record: Skrine excels in man coverage. Very impressive. Doesn't give WR an inch or QB place to put the ball pic.twitter.com/MZEAL4VfL5
