thanks for the correction. either way it was too much. It was seen as a steal for the Jets at the time, but in hindsight, I agree with you. Holmes is a bum.

The contract and making the douchebag a team captain were legenderally bad moves. You might say that at the time the organization was "Tone Deaf" not fully comprehending what a bad apple he was. The contracts given to Holmes and Sanchez were what got Tanny fired. That's what happens when you have a GM that lacks the ability to build through the draft. They are constantly targeting players in the draft reducing draft picks to trade up, trading for players who have worn out their welcome elsewhere, and over valueing the players on their own roster. Oh yeah, they also blindly follow the HC's advice on drafting and player signings. Thank God for Mac, which is starting to look like the best move of Woody's tenure as owner.

Let's not get too crazy about Mac just yet. Anyone can sign a bunch of proven NFL free agents. Well, anyone except Idziot. Don't get me wrong I like his hiring and the moves he's made so far. But the true measure of a NFL GM is his drafting. Can he project how college players will fare at the professional level? That's what separates the men from the boys. Let me see how his drafts work out first before I start thanking the deity of your choice for his hiring....
