Bars around here are charging upwards $75 for an admission ticket and two whole free drinks. What a racket, they're already covering the PPV costs after the first table is seated

Mayweather is going to try to jab and run for 12 rounds, just like every single other one of his big fights. He's an Olympic points boxer and he's good at it, nothing more. If Paq can get inside and start landing early then MW goes down and boxing gains some legs...otherwise expect another dissapointing PPV for the ages. Beyond that even, if this goes to the judges and they fuck it up this sport is buried. Called it, what a load of shit. Greatest fight of this generation my ass, had a better time watching the end of the draft today

You can't really complain about the fight, this is how basically every other Floyd fight has gone down for the last 15 years. I think the only time I can think he was troubled recently was against Miguel Cotto, but that was only for a few rounds. What is amazing is how a fighter with a defensive style gets these huge prize-fights, and everyone pays up even though you know what's going to happen, and what it is aint going to be exciting. Its like the punters want to be conned out of the their money again and again. Floyd is a defensive genius but that isn't good viewing except if you are a purist of the sport.
There are fights he's missed that I would have loved to have seen - he dodged Kostya Tszyu when he was going up from the featherweights to the welterweights - Tszyu was maybe the hardest puncher at light-welter in the history of the sport. So that would have been a good matchup just because Tszyu had a come-forward style and only needed one punch to land for lights out, like when he made Zab Judah do the chicken dance. However it never happened and a few years later KT was past it and out of the sport.
Of the current fighters around, there isn't really anyone around who is a match for Floyd, though if Guillermo Rigondeaux was 25 lbs heavier that would be an insane matchup that I actually think would favour the Cuban - he's actually a better counterpuncher with better defence in my opinion than Mayweather. The only other fighter around is Golovkin at middleweight who might trouble PBF, but why would Floyd jump all the way back up there for his final bout?

Say what you will, pretty boy mayweather is the best in the business. Greatest defensive boxer of all time.

Say what you will, pretty boy mayweather is the best in the business. Greatest defensive boxer of all time. Killed the sport in doing so. Saw this comparison earlier - its like a basketball team that hits 95% from the FT line drawing 50 fouls to win the game. Effective, but no one wants to see that. Same reason the UFC cut guys like Jon Fitch - he was winning nearly all his fights but was doing so by playing guard on his back all match. Just because it works doesn't mean its good for the brand.

Lol Floyd killed boxing? Tickets sold out in 60 seconds. Floyd has tried hi best to keep boxing alive this long. His villain role & people hoping somebody beats him is good for the brand. Triple H, the wrestler, even said such while hanging around him & learning about him.
Look at heavyweight boxing. Outside of the dominant Klitschko brothers & maybe Wilder, it's nothing there.

Triple H, the wrestler, even said such while hanging around him & learning about him. Look at heavyweight boxing. Outside of the dominant Klitschko brothers & maybe Wilder, it's nothing there. Tickets were sold to 90% millionaires and hardcore boxing fans, that doesn't account for casual interest. Last night you had millions of casual fans watching boxing for maybe the first time in years hoping for something exciting, boxing's real chance to put on a show they're hyping as "the fight of the century", and its a compete dud, even if it was technically efficient. It did fine money wise but look at the reactions today all across the board - no one is happy and everyone is calling the fight a joke. What casual fan in their right mind is going to pipe out $100 again after seeing that shit go down? UFC costs $60 for PPV and is vastly more exciting - maybe boxing is alive and well for millionaires and purists but for the average consumer its last legs died last night.

I stated earlier : If you are not betting on this fight you are no longer a man and should remove your balls pronto and dump them in your wifes purse. What if you don't give a fuck about this fight? Are you still no longer a man? I have no desire to watch Floyd run away from Pac for 12 rounds. If(big IF) a miracle happens and Pac catches him, and puts his ass on the canvas, I'll watch the highlights of that moment(since I know that would be the most interesting moment of the fight). Otherwise, fuck Mayweather and fuck PPV TV for charging 90-100 fucking dollars for this. Which is just about what happened. Then again, Floyd is more of Stick-and-move type of fighter than a I'm-going-to-knock-your-fucking-head-off-asshole type of fighter. Hey at least I was able to watch this BORE-FEST "free" so I saved 100 bucks that I could use on more important shit like Food and BEER.
