As the Devil's advocate, I could see the Jets looking up to upgrade their offensive line. D'Brickashaw and Mangold aren't growing any younger (obviously) and Ferguson's play has been on the decline for a couple of seasons. Giacomini is average, at best, at right tackle. The interior linemen (perhaps apart from Carpenter) are young and relatively untried or downright terrible (Dozier, Aboushi and Winters) or penalty-prone and close to breaking down (Colon).
Geno has a problem holding onto the ball for too long which will take some time, if ever, to cure. Jets need a good offensive line to keep Smith's pocket as clean as possible while also opening running lanes for Ivory et al.
The good thing about Mac's free agency is that he has a number of different ways he could go with his second, third and fourth round picks and can afford to still go BPA.

Strong or Fisher, or Odighizuwa or Harold if we want to go edge rusher.
If I was making the pick, Fisher wins over Strong in a very tough decision.

I like a few WRs, am a fan of Grayson, and Tevin Coleman, there's also a few good cb's on the board... But ultimately I think the Jets go pass rusher, Eli Harold....

Very well mate how bout yourself? Not bad mate, I see Gala have had a decent season, Europe aside. Yeah not bad Sneijder has been pure gold but I just can't stomache the Turkish league after the cover up of the match fixing scandal. There was actually a cup tie last night, won 4 1, didn't watch that but got up in the middle of the night to watch some guys I've never heard of get picked. I may need professional help.

Jets pick 5th - if Fischer, Strong, DGB are gone - would it be insane to look QB? I don't think Petty or Grayson last til the Jets pick again. . . No way None of these 2nd tier QB's are worthy of a Top 40 pick. Now, if a kid like Grayson is still hanging around at the top of Round 3, then I wouldn't mind taking a flyer. if those guys are gone and they feel they should take an offensive player - why not Abdullah? he'd be perfect for the passing game and could return kicks too.

Fisher. Consolation prize for not getting Scherff. New regime is not taking any risks by drafting a character problem +1
