Yup at least Mac knows first hand what he's getting here, reason why I liked this trade.
Would have rather gotten a 4th without the player to go back the 12 spots, but the trade is a good trade if:
- Mauldin the the guy we would have picked at 70 and we still got him at 82, or - Posey makes the team and contributes as a 5th wideout. - We get a contributor with the 5th round pick
If Mauldin turns into the edge rusher we needed -- no way to complain about the deal. As of this AM, I like it.
i think it's response (for most) to the level interest and desire though. Yes, there's some rug mats here who just enjoy being vocal and dramatic, but there's also a number of invested draft followers, and after months of speculation, you can't help but be emotionally hyper-polarized. You wanna feel like after all the homework you did, that you're in synchronicity with the team's draft agenda
I've learned a long time ago that no matter how much time you invest, you will normally come away disappointed. Well at least being a Jets fan. I only hate the know it alls that read one sentence about a player, never watch college ball, and are pulling hard for their pick. Maybe they even spent enough time watching a highlight video.
In the end it's all fun and I never take a message board too seriously. I gave negative rep today for the first time.....and then I turned around and evened it up for the same poster. If everyone agreed with each other it would be called Flats*fans.com.
Don't take the criticism too hard....many respect your opinion and ignore others. It's what makes this place fun.
Agreed. Any player that plays a couple seasons of college footbal can put together a "highlight reel" and look awesome, it's the "low-light reel" where you really learn about a player.

I could put together a "low light reel" on Amari Cooper that would make him like nothing better than an UDFA fodder. Same goes for almost any player that has a few years under their belt.
Gregory is another guy. Watch the 1 highlight play he makes a game, but what about the other 50 where he gets washed out on every play.
This defense is now complete ...and ridiculous...kudos to Mac who might be in early contention for exec of the year..
Exec of the year? Guess we'll see how things work out, but u did support idzik and thought his picks were absolutely brilliant, so I guess this is the second year in a row out GM was exec of the year. :-) anyway, I really do hope Mac 's picks turn out great and all of my concerns prove to b unfounded. Want to c how these pieces fit together and how r offense especially scores TDs.
