Love the Williams pick, which alone will solidify this as a solid draft. However, would have preferred DGB in rd. 2 vs Devin Smith. His upside was too much to ignore... Also would have preferred staying put in rd. 3 and drafting Garrett Grayson. The Saints put out a major smoke screen being linked to Petty, but at the end of the day, they said that if they didn't get Grayson, they wouldn't have drafted a qb. Petty is a big time project. Played in a spread, has no flow to his game (much like Sanchez) and has not mastered the small nuances that a pro style qb needs. The 5th rd. OT was a decent pick, the trade for Stacey also was good, but he's no better than Powell and the 7th round NT was a head scratcher, he might be a nice player but the Dline is already stacked... A successful draft means 4 starters, I don't think the Jets got that. Maybe 3... but Williams was simply a fantastic value so I'm happy overall. IDK why people like Grayson. He has average arm talent. Petty has more overall talent than Grayson and its not close. The only thing Grayson has over Petty is experience in a pro style offense. But it's not like Grayson is ready to play. He's still 2 years away from having a legit shot to compete at the NFL level. So why not take the guy with more talent, more upside and develop him from ground zero the way you want to? It makes more sense.

Not to mention the fact that now that we have REAL football people to run the franchise and team, a young QB might actually get PROPERLY DEVELOPED for a fucking change!!!

Grayson reminds me of Pennington/Brees.. A guy who might not overwhelm you with his arm strength, but he knows how to play the position, will make good decisions and is ultra accurate.
Petty is like Geno/Cam Newton in that he has all the tools, but needs a lot of work to learn how to play the position. Guys like this never seem to fully grasp it IMO, even Newton who is pretty good has a lot of lapses in judgement.
With that, I went back and watched Petty from 2013 and I think he looked better. he had a hurt back in 2014... He's got a great arm!

www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000488889/article/2015-nfl-draft-quicksnap-grades-for-afc-east-teamsDraft pick: DL Leonard Williams (No. 6 overall), WR Devin Smith (No. 37 overall), LB Lorenzo Mauldin (No. 82 overall), QB Bryce Petty (No. 103 overall), OL Jarvis Harrison (No. 152 overall), NT Deon Simon (No. 223 overall) Day 1 grade: A+ Day 2 grade: A- Day 3 grade: A Overall grade: A The skinny: The new front office and head coach in New York landed the best player in the draft. That's a nice way to start your tenure even if Williams might not really be a true need for the Jets. That defense should be nasty for Todd Bowles, and Williams could provide some insurance in case Muhammad Wilkerson leaves as a free agent next season. Smith has plenty of speed and will help stretch the field for Geno Smith. Mauldin was a great value pick in the third round off the edge. With some time under his belt in the NFL, Petty might turn out to be the best passer in this draft class and finds a great home in New York to develop behind Geno Smith. Bottom line: Top-heavy draft group adds to a talented roster assembled very quickly by new GM Mike Maccagnan. I I liked everything you said up to Geno Smith. Replace that with Fitz- then it's all good!

I'm not even sure who's dick I should suck right now. Uh, mine? Yes, mine. This reminds me of something that happened to a friend of mine. He was playing in a high end charity golf tournament with many retired major league baseball players. A famous latin american player was in his group. On the back 9, after they had gotten to know each other, the retired player began telling stories of his sexual conquests. After about 3 stories, he tells them that during one road trip he met a lady at a bar and she invited him back to her house for a dip in the hot tub. While they were frolicking naked in the tub, he noticed a guy had walked in the back yard and was standing a few feet away just watching them. The woman casually said something like "Oh, hi Frank, you're home early". She then introduced Frank as her husband. the player got all freaked out and was deciding whether to walk away or run, but she said Frank was cool with it and asked if Frank could join in. The Player then goes on to say that they enjoyed a threesome. Saying things like she blew him while Frank took her from behind, yada yada yada, ... then he just throws in "and Frank sucked me off". My friend could not hide the shocked look on his face, and the player asked what was wrong. My friend responded "Oh, nothing, I just didn't realize you were bi". The player got angry, and said "I'm not bi!, Weren't you listening. He sucked my dick."
