Good news.
This is one of the most intriguing guys in our entire Draft. He's not getting a lot of attention because he was a 3rd day pick, we got Williams, a QB in Petty, etc. but Harrison could end up being a steal.
By most accounts the guy is easily a starting caliber OG, a phone-booth type guy who operates well in small spaces and can both run and pass block. While he doesn't have "character" concerns there have been legitimate questions about his work ethic. He has just seemed lazy at times and seems to enjoy basketball more than football. Hopefully that is just some immaturity and he'll wake up to the opportunity he has here in the NFL, he'll realize this is his career. If that happens then this guy could legitimately be a starting OG.
His scouting report....

Like most of these guys who are talented but may have off-field or work ethic concerns, the Jets need to find him a mentor. They need someone like Mangold or Willie Colon to take him under their wing and show him how you work as a pro in this League.

I think Mangold and Colon did a great job of that with Aboushi and Winters, Aboushi showed some promise but Winters flat out sucks. Harrison has a legitimate shot at that RG spot currently occupied by Colon IMO. Found this, nice breakdown of his game. www.steelersdepot.com/2015/03/2015-nfl-draft-player-profiles-texas-am-g-jarvis-harrison/

moore was a late pick and dlineman who coverted to a pretty good right guard. let's hope this guy can play as well.

Seems like a risk worth taking in the 5th round. Lets hope he is just an immature kid who is ready to grow up and work his ass off now that he is a pro.

moore was a late pick and dlineman who coverted to a pretty good right guard. let's hope this guy can play as well. We have a lot of bodies that are possibilities at OG..... Carpenter, Colon, Aboushi, Winters, Dozier, Harrison.....and that's just off the top of my head. I think we have a couple of other practice squad and DT converts milling around as well. Campbell? Our 2 starters will come out of that group of 6. Carpenter seems to be a lock at LG. I think Colon is our fallback option at RG again if nobody can beat him out. I'm really hoping that Dozier and Harrison can step up, along with Aboushi making progress. Both Aboushi and Dozier have some OT capabilities, I could see Dozier as an eventual RT after Giacomini. I'm not sure Aboushi will ever grow into a true LT but did a decent job at LG last year. It seems to me that Aboushi is a left side (LT, LG) type guy only....is that right?

Carpenter Colon Winters Aboushi (OT?) Dozier Harrison
5 guys competing to play opposite Carpenter. 1 has got to give, you'd think. hard to imagine two long-term starters aren't in that group. tackle is a little thin with a very average Breno starting. hopefully him or Aboushi can step up.

I think the Jets like Dozier as more of a center than a guard

Let's face it - Colon and Winters are both crap and should be eliminated from any talk about starting. I sure hope the others can fill in.

Better depth than I can remember in a long time. The Jets will be cutting a couple of good players Harrison is a very intriguing player. He's got RT possibility, but maybe best for him to cut his teeth as a Guard. Fifth-rounder Jarvis Harrison's time in the three-cone drill at the NFL Combine. It was the best time by any guard and the fourth-best by any offensive lineman, with most of the rest of the linemen slower despite being 20-25 pounds lighter than his 330-pound frame. That and the fact that Jarvis was good enough to make an AAU traveling basketball squad when he was younger speak to the agility and athleticism for his imposing size that he's bringing to the pros. From nyjets.com

Based on his scouting report, combine numbers, and a supposed ceiling as a Pro Bowler it sounds like he should have been in the 2nd-3rd Round conversation.
