That summary SCREAMS practice squad JAG who will in all likelihood not have a job in 2016. At best 2017.
Why do the Jets (and 3/4 of the NFL) waste 7th round picks on all these low ceiling, no floor motherfuckers... A gluttony of Dlineman, Guards and other fat assholes. It doesn't take a seasoned scout to recognize a player who doesn't have any hidden tools. Simon isn't going anywhere. Definitely not on this team.
Why not spend those late picks on RBs, WRs, TEs... etc. A lot of those skill position guys come with twice the potential and success rate. The league is littered with late round/UDFA backs, tweaners and receivers who develop serious NFL chops. I know there's always a Cinderella story here and there... but c'mon. Tell me you'd rather have this guy, over A. Goodley from USF? Or R. Hall from UCF, or C. Worthy from ECU, or blah blah blah.
You feel me?

I agree. NFL should do a 4 round draft.

Ugh because nos5 of whats left at that point in the draft fits that description?
Or better yet, the Jets might not agree with some pinhead on an Internet blog site jotted down. Guessing that not too many of these guys have seen much tape or really recruited this guy or others like him.

I agree. NFL should do a 4 round draft. No, they should do a 9 round draft and so we can stop complaining about the 7th.

Yup, every year I beg for them to draft the H-W-S guys at the tail end of the draft. Those freak athletes from the smaller schools or guys who maybe didn't have the production. Instead we go with fullbacks and linemen who will never make a meaningful contribution. Don't get it.

why only pick a wr or rb. You would only be limiting the talent pool To pick from. For every Marques Colton and Donald driver there's a jay Ratliff or Tom nalen.

No different than Reilly who was a 26/27 yo rookie. I don't understand the logic either, but someone that age would be someone I would pass on unless they were a special teams demon. Even then, I'm sure you could find a younger guy with upside that could play specials.
