This is why I never blame players for doing anything they can to make every penny they can including holding out.
It can all end real quick.

At least he has a sense of humor. Anyways even if he never plays, if he's wise, he's a rich man.

Although he did apparently sign a "Participation Agreement" with the Jags to protect him in case of serious injury during minicamp. From what I have read, he should end up with the same contract regardless of the injury, as long as Jax honors the agreement.

I read it was something along the lines that the Jaguars had to negotiate in good faith with Fowler even in the case of injury. That wouldn't be worth the paper it's written on, especially given the impotence of the NFLPA.

From what I have read, it sounds like the end result is expected to be a similar contract -- but part of his signing bonus may be deferred until next year. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. If Jax tries to screw the kid over, we will probably never see another rookie draft pick show up at one of these camps if he is unsigned.

With the new CBA making the contract process so cut and dried, there's no reason to not get contracts done before camp, and rushing these players into them.
