Just hit NFL Network. Not sure if this includes Brady's decision thru NFLPA Does not include Brady's appeal: Shocking (sarcasm). This will probably be a classic case of "quid pro quo"

A "high-ranking NFL source" tells Sports Illustrated's Greg A. Bedard that the Patriots' decision to forego an appeal of their Deflategate punishment does not include a tacit agreement that Tom Brady's suspension will be reduced.
Owner Robert Kraft is getting praised for having some sort of master plan, but it appears he's going more by gut feel. It stands to reason to any logical person that Tuesday's announcement will work in Brady's favor as he works to get his four-game ban reduced. It also remains possible Kraft and commissioner Roger Goodell reached a wink/nod agreement behind closed doors.

Brady will follow suit and drop the appeal over the unions objections, thus appearing to take the high road as well. Just one guys opinion.

Saw an interesting theory on the JN board. Any chance Brady confessed to Kraft and Kraft scrambled to try and save face? Hmmmmmm

So he thinks it is for the good of the league for teams to start accepting unprecedented punishments for things they are completely innocent of? .....right

Pats fans are making me laugh so hard today: So much bitching about how they can't wear patriots gear anywhere because people call them cheaters. They aren't mad at the team for cheating, just for Kraft declining to pursue litigation over the penalties. So many guys pissing about how Kraft ruined the team although it's obvious they only became fans when Kraft bought the team. Complaints abound over all the corruption in the NFL but they don't mean winning multiple Super Bowls by cheating. The inside-out logic of Patriot fans on this is laughable. They are emboldened by the insecure denial of what is right and wrong. It's sort of like they are savants of ignorance.

Hmmm...object, appeal, drop appeal, smell-like-roses. Krafty... Not really, they're still on the books as having cheated their way into a SB season.

A lot of them are talking about rooting for different teams. Lolz I don't even care if Brady's suspension gets completely overturned at this point. The damage has already been done.

I bet you Goodell offered to reduce the suspension if they didn't appeal, lol.
You know, regardless of how the appeals and everything goes, the Patriots still ultimately come out as the winners. A fine? A short suspension? A lost pick or two? Meh. What do those things really matter when they still get to keep those titles? Hell, the NFL won't even put an official asterisk on them even when they themselves acknowledged that New England has cheated MULTIPLE TIMES. So, really, how has NE lost in this whole thing? Say what you want about the importance of draft picks and whatnot, but if the ultimate goal of all of it is to win the championship, what does a pick or a short suspension matter? I think that's the real tragedy of all of this, really. No matter how many picks they take away, how much they fine the team, however long they suspend Brady, they still have the championship and the NFL won't ever take that away from them.

Don't care about that The fact is that the perception of them has totally changed. For the last 8 years, it's basically only been Jets fans that have perceived the Pats as cheaters. Now, everyone does.
