We are all just splitting hairs on the circumstances of this incident, the fact is you can't trust this guy. I knew he was trouble when he started giving fans shit on social media. He's absolutely deluded, he talks about Suh money yet he's come nowhere close to Watts numbers and production. This guy is bad news. I don't give a shit how talented he is, he's the weak link in our locker room that is trying to build chemistry and trust. You can't ever pay this man, send him up to coco the clown in buffalo where he can do what the fuck he wants with no repercussions. I don't just want to see the NFL hit him, I wanna set the Jets slam the fucker as hard as they can and ban him this year unpaid. Agree it is splitting hairs. From the moment he was drafted he came across as particularly opinionated. He backed it up with his play on the field but off the field he was "Keyshawn Johnson'ish" with the verbal diarrhea. I think it's too early to give up on him, he is possibly the most talented player on this team besides Revis. If he gets suspended for the year, I think he should be given an opportunity to re-write his mistakes. He may shut the hell up, grow the hell up and just play after this latest nonsense.

We were saying the same thing when he got the suspension for smoking pot, apologized and said it would never happen again. Then 2 weeks later...

Let me say that what Sheldon did was dumb as fuck. That being said its not as big a deal as people are making it out to be. He's only charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest. No child endangerment charges, no drug charges and no weapon charges. Jason Peters was arrested for doing the same thing in 2013 and pleaded down to a fine of $600. I'm not sure what his NFL penalty was though.
Yes, Sheldon did fail a drug test but that is NOT a violation of the personal conduct policy, it's a violation of the drug policy. So this would be his first violation of the personal conduct policy. He's eligible for a fine and/or a suspension. With that being said, if you read the policy it states that "forced non consensual sex" is a 6 game suspension. Now there are some people saying he should be suspended for a year but in reality it'll be more like 2 games that gets reduced to 1 through appeal when you consider that rape is a 6 games suspension. But I don't think the NFL will make a decision on that till next off-season. With that being said, if I'm the Jets I suspend him for an additional game this year and hope the NFL uses that suspension and just fines him next off-season and he doesn't miss any games next year.
I'm not denying his idiocy but this is not as big of a deal as what it's being made out to be in my opinion.

I agree after looking into this further....he's a fucking bonehead any way you slice it, and he's taken a major hit as far as Jets I like......but I don't see any serious consequences from this given what he was charged with.....he was extremely lucky that's all he was charged with...he needs someone in the jet locker room to take him under their wing before this guy ruins his career

But the weed smell in the car concerns me. If that leads to a failed piss test and an additional 10 game suspension, that is some serious consequences. I sure as hell was no angel when I was young. Fortunately I had a good head on my shoulders and straightened myself out. So I'm not going to throw him under the bus for being an idiot and I bet a lot of us here have done some pretty fucking stupid shit in our day. I do hope somebody talks to him and helps straighten him out before he manages to fuck up his life, his career.... AND MY FUCKING FOOTBALL SEASON!!!

Big Mac must have known or had suspicions about Sheldon during the draft. That pick is looking a lot better now. The Jets knew about him getting caught the first time, right? They might not have known anything about this suspension during the draft but I bet just his general attitude (not showing up to OTAs) and drug test history made LW an even more appealing option when he was there at #6.

Its a gateway drug. And the lifestyle also lends itself to more undesirable things (i.e. guns). We are seeing a progression here. You must have watched the same anti-drug films I was forced to watch as a kid in the eighties. Love that vintage catch phrase ... I suggest lots of disposable money at a young age is a significantly bigger gateway drug than cannabis. While his recent actions were foolish and ill advised, Richardson is an angry man ... particularly angry at the shooting of Michael Brown by the Ferguson police. It's not surprising that he is trying to escape the St Louis Police. Despite the fact that reefer was being smoked in the car, I doubt he will test positive. Yes he is stupid but not ultra-stupid, it was likely his cohorts smoking. Richardson knew he would be tested at any time, so I doubt he partook on this ocassion. Give me a fuckin break such liberal horseshit excuse making. Some punk I never met that I would never even acknowledge until he became a martyr gets offed so I'm sooo angry I have to some weed and fail a piss test (again) and then have a gun in the care, let my moron buddies smoke up in the car, and drag race at 140 mph, with a kid in the car! Poor Sheldon, it's all YTs fault, he's just misunderstood, he dindu nuffin! Is he an "aspiringrapper" also?

I think it's ironic that Sheldon tells everyone that he wants "more money", and he has now succeeded in making "Mo Money"...

Have we found a way to blame Rex for this yet?

Have we found a way to blame Rex for this yet? How is it not Rex's fault? Sheldon was drafted by Rex and Rex taught him everything he knows about how to conduct himself as a pro on and off the field.
