revis' concussion seems pretty serious. i don't think he's the kind to take a game off because of a nagging injury. the thing is, will revis rethink his whole career and maybe hang it up sooner than later? he's made quite a bit of money and if his current contract is guaranteed then why would he risk the long term effects of more concussions. frankly i wouldn't blame him. he may not be as good as he was back in 2009 but he's still top five and the team would miss him greatly but there is life after football.
i hope the jets insured his contract against injury.

2 things about Revis: - He likes money - He's a competitor
I think nothing pisses him off more than to hear people say he's over the hill. He wants to be the best of all time, so I doubt he'll hang it up any time soon.

He's been in the concussion protocol TEN DAYS. That should tell us something. Aside from his knee injury, when have we ever seen him out 2 full games. This does not bode well. OBJ gonna eat us alive.

I don't think Revis is over the hill. But I do think he's been noticeably slower since the hamstring pull. I think he wanted to play through it because he's a competitor but if you play, you can't make any excuses. Hopefully this time off also helps he hammy rest too.
If I'm wrong and it isn't the hammy, then he ain't nearly worth the money he's getting and him and Cro could be one and done.
As for him retiring, I only see it if his play drops off and stays that way. I don't think the head injury would stop him.

FLORHAM PARK — Star cornerback Darrelle Revis did not practice again Wednesday as he continues to recover from a concussion. And that means it's starting to look unlikely Revis will play Sunday when the Jets "visit" Odell Beckham Jr. and the Giants.
READ: NFL's concussion protocol
Head coach Todd Bowles said Revis wasn't even able to attend meetings as of Wednesday afternoon.
Revis, out since Nov. 22, cannot be cleared until he clears a series of independent cognitive evaluations combined with a progression of physical activity as laid out by the NFL's concussion protocol.
Responses to concussion trauma can vary, depending on the individual affected. Bowles did say Revis has been able to do "light physical activity." That Revis is still not even attending meetings or appearing at practice to do light workouts obviously means he still has a ways to go.
Revis backup, Marcus Williams, also did not practice as he continues to recover from a sprained knee.
Jets prepare for Giants 12/2/15 (Video by Dom Cosentino | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com) The rest of the injury report for both teams.
Jets Did not practice
S Dion Bailey (ankle) C Nick Mangold (hand) LB Calvin Pace (abdomen) CB Darrelle Revis (concussion) CB Marcus Williams (knee)
Limited at practice
WR Brandon Marshall (toe, ankle)
Full practice participation
WR Eric Decker (knee) QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (left thumb) LB Trevor Reilly (knee) CB Buster Skrine (shoulder)

Cro, yes, but not Revis. He is due $17 million next year, but if he is cut, it would be a $23 million cap hit -- it would cost us $6 million cap space to let him go. Cro on the other hand would save us $9 million and I think he is almost certain to be a cap casualty, especially with the emergence of Williams.

Cro will almost certainly be cut. I really think Revis is still slowed by the hamstring so I don't think it's an issue in the long run.
