I remember when the Jets were making their final cuts in August/September....the WR position actually seemed crowded and many here were upset with some of the guys who were cut.
Just to refresh memories:
Retained: Eric Decker, Brandon Marshall, Jeremy Kerley, Devin Smith, Quincy Enunwa
Cut to get to 78: T.J. Graham, DeVier Posey, Austin Hill, Saalim Hakim, Jonathon Rumph
Cut to get to 53: Walter Powell, Shaq Evans, Chris Owusu
Would you bring anyone back?

He had an AWESOME year and a half stint with Rivers in SD. Can't hurt to kick the tires, though I wouldn't expect anything. Kid has the legs of Jimmy Valmer. 37 catches 658 yards 7 TDs 17.8 yards per rec According to ESPN this was over 10 games with San Diego in 2012. espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/13935/danario-alexander

Between him and Devin they may actually have one functional set of legsSeriously though I completely forgot about this guy, he dominated in 2012. Would be a crazy come back if he was anywhere near his old self pff..you want a leg? I can get you a leg.

Thompkins will likely replace Smith on the active roster. Kerley is still a question as well due to a calf injury, so we may still need another WR. Should know more this afternoon when Jets release their injury report. Powell and Posey are two guys I was thinking about. Powell returned punts in the preseason -- pretty sure he is on Buffalo practice squad. Not sure where Posey is -- I think he is a free agent -- but as a vet who played last season in Houston with Fitz, I would have thought he might be a possibility.

His story is a tragic one. Great WR, good character and had the potential to be "the guy" for a team... wasn't fair that his body broke down at such a young age.

yikes - sucks that all that talent is going to waste due to injuries. sounds like he's only a fill-in type now...

The Jets know what they're getting. He's boom or bust from a health standpoint. No doubt that the guy is a capable WR and has WR1/2 type talent, but he could disappear due to injury at any point. From Alexander's standpoint it's nice to see him get another chance and make some $ before Christmas.

Great prospect out of Mizzou several years ago. Tore up his knee at the senior bowl and has had about a half dozen knee surgeries since then. On both knees. Looked to be coming on a few years ago with the Chargers, but tore up his knee again. Huge talent, huge injury risk. Well that explains why Randy Moss Part Deux is looking for work.

Posey had a try-out with the Broncos earlier this week (along with Trent "I'm a former first round pick" Richardson, amongst others).
