+1000 Work sucks and the client my company is working for decided to have a major "drop-dead" deadline on 12/29, the assholes. So no time off for me, I'm even working weekends all this month. (I am looking for another job, though, this is too much.) But hope all of you have a wonderful holiday! Parent company is based in India? How'd you guess?

I guess as a client I would love them, but talk about running your staff ragged... Hope you find something good to start the new year off with a bang. Agree, my company is not employee-friendly (to put it nicely) even though they think they are. But I just got an offer letter from another company!!! They really want me to work there, the office is only 4 miles away, and they say one of their goals is work-life balance. Music to my ears! They know about my husband's medical issues and have no problem with being flexible when I have to take him to doctor app'ts and Houston for treatments. Woo-hoo!

And they give you no respect or thanks for just throwing away that time. Bastards. No, they don't. Just more of "why didn't that get done on time?" Plus, I'm the only one on the project at my company so if I'm out, nothing gets done. That's on my boss for under-staffing the project. I haven't even been able to take time off when my husband's been in the hospital -- three times since mid November. I got to visit him after working 12 hours and then get little sleep, because of their damn deadlines. But see my post above -- it won't be for much longer and then I say

My company has crazy deadlines, too. Have one on the 23rd. Putting in extra hours nights and weekend when I can. hope your job search is very successful, and you can tell your boss to take that job and shove it! Sounds like they don't value their employees at all. Sorry to hear that , L! Hope you got all your work done today and can have some time off! See my reply to JW! Got an offer letter today for another company! They want me to start around the end of January, early February. The new company can't wait until my horrible project is over in April. So I may be burning my bridges at the old company and possibly the client we're working for, which I don't like to do. I hope it doesn't come back to haunt me later. But I sure would love to tell my boss to kiss my Connecticut-Texan ass!

They've given me until Jan 4 to accept the offer. I'm sure I will but just need time to make sure there is nothing to negotiate. Unfortunately, the same shit clients will be at the new company, but the environment there seems 1000 times better than my current company.

I pray the time you put in typing this was preceded by you drafting a letter of resignation? Congrats!!! Very happy to hear this. Thanks!!!! Not quite yet. I have to accept by Jan 4 and will probably resign later that week to give 2 weeks notice. Have to time it so the benefits at the new company kick in without any interruption. But I am excited. Another person at my company quit last week to go to the same new company (two others before her). So it seems like a good place to be.

I was like "I'm leaving as soon as I'm done anyway, but thanks". CEO sent out a message today for everyone to "go dark" for the next few days. Spend the time with our families, no working. Plus, bonus checks were deposited in to accounts last night. Things are lookin up! Merry Christmas everybody! good luck with your new job!
