Teams with a good QB who feel.they underachieved should go hard and early for Doug marrone. Clearly he did a good job winning 9 games in Buffalo last season, and he did an amazing job in Jax as assistant HC/OL coach this season.

I heard the same about Fisher. Mr. 8-8 So weird for such a mediocre coach to stick around for a generation. At least marvin lewis gets to the playoffs, Fisher has done what in the past decade? They don't fire men with mustaches in St. Louis. Everyone knows this. Fisher gets a pass until he fails with a decent QB, or drafts a QB who flops.

Yeah the way Kevin Gilbride resigned. they'd never fire him. ETA: that's a plum vacancy. I wonder who this might lure out of retirement Beckham has become bigger than the franchise. A guy like Coughlin probably can't stand that. Neither would Gruden or Cowher. Rumors going around the Holmgren wants to coach again. But he is 64 years old. I think the ownership wants to keep McAdoo bc they feel Eli has some years left and dont want to waste time on a proper blowup. But that means they would need to find a GM that would accept that. And as we know, forced marriages usually dont work.

His name has already been linked to Cleveland as a possibility -- not exactly a good QB situation there. Ian RapoportVerified account @rapsheet 2h2 hours ago Names expected to interview for #Browns in the coming days: Teryl Austin & Adam Gase. Doug Marrone likely, as well. Although most teams with good QBs are not looking for HCs. Maybe SD (if they move on from McCoy) would be a fit.

I was thinking Colts, Giants, Dolphins, or lions as teams that would instantly improve with Marrone. When are owners going to realize that being an innovative successful coordinator is not a reliable indicator of HC abilities. The great HCs are rarely the hot coordinator. Instead, they are the guys who know how to identify and hire a coordinator and/or position coach, and then provide them with an environment where they can be successful.

I didnt think of Payton. I think he is definitely a legit candidate if he is fired. I think the Giants are gonna let Cruz go. And if they do we should take a flyer.

You wonder if Pettine will reunite with Rex in Buffalo. He did a good job with their D a few years back. I hope not. If you read collision low crossers Pet was actually the guy that reeled Rex back in when he came up with some truly crazy shit. I know Pet was a rat but I wonder how Tannenbaum got along with him.

Presumably we'll be firing our special teams coach tomorrow.
