As far as the Yankees go, I can talk bad about them because I'm a Mets fan, but I stick up for'em when somebody else speaks bad. IOW, it's like a family. I can cuss out my brother, but no one outside the family can.

I need to show my ID to go to my doctor with my ACA plan. The ironing. Ironing is not a lib strong-point. They want to feel the world is a nice place full of nice people. It is...not. We can do nice things for nice people by not labeling them victims and holding them accountable. Ta da. Requiring an ID is a poll tax, plain and simple. More to the point, it's false solution to a problem that doesn't even exist. Read the WI article.

I fail to see the harm in it, and is a small in step making sure people don't vote twice (we had a scandal here not so long ago where the mayor of Paris had dead people vote).

For some perspective, here you are obligated by law to have some form of official ID on you. We have poor people too, and I’ve never heard the argument that asking for ID to vote is discriminatory. If you care THAT much about voting, I think you could end up saving 25$ over X amount of time to eventually get ID. Dunno..

Southern states adopted the "poll tax" as a requirement for voting as part of a series of laws intended to marginalize black Americans from politics. The 24th Amendment abolished the use of the poll tax (or any other tax) as a pre-condition for voting in federal elections. Interpret that as you wish.

Ah so you're saying it's illegal because if you get an ID specifically to vote, and it costs you 25$ then it equates to a tax?

But other men, in long black robes, more learned than I, have interpreted it as such. (i.e. there should be no expenditure needed to vote) If you read its quite interesting. Georgia used to charge $1 to vote. What a crazy country.
