They absolutely have to get ahead of Buffalo. You know Lynch will never get past Buffalo. Count on Rex doing that just to screw the Jets, if for no other reason LOl, like Rex would blow a 1st round pick on offense. Good point. But I think he would rather screw the jets than get a player he wants

Havent we been hearing awful stuff about Lynch between the ears though? Couldn't care less about his wonderlic score. Marino had a 13 or 16 I believe before he was drafted. And as far as coming from a spread offense and needing to adapt...that was the exact same knock on guys like Derek Carr and Marcus Mariota. And I'd kill to have either of those fucking kids right now. Carr is already a borderline Top 10 QB two years into his career and Mariota had more 4 TD games than any rookie QB in history.

Sure, but with judgment being the fundamental criticism of our last high qb draft pick (the amount of times ive read people complain Geno has "nothing between the ears"), im extra sensitive to it. Is Lynch a materially better QB than Bryce coming out of college? Because Petty won a ton of football games at Baylor, has a great arm, great intangibles...and his big obstacle is adjustment to prostyle offenses just like Lynch, only we picked him up in the fourth rd right? And i could have sworn i read the issues w lynch going beyond the wonderlic and to his performance in interviews and understanding of the game... Is Lynch a Mariotta level athlete? Ill support whoever we pick, and i am cool with developing a qb, but not sure the guys who will be there at twenty are better than the qb in waiting we have...

and give up what? A number 2 for a project... If need be...yeah. This team isn't winning dick ultimately without a franchise QB. The people who want the Jets to put all of their eggs in the Bryce Petty basket are fucking cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. There's maybe a 10% chance of the kid ever amounting to anything more than a career backup. And the "we have other holes to fill" argument by fans is short sighted at best. Yeah, this team has holes...and they're still going to have holes next year, and the year after that and the year after that... Lynch is a 6'7 245 kid with a rifle for an arm, GREAT mobility for a QB his size and he knows how to take care of the football. Sit him on the bench for a year behind Fitz and he could blossom into a Top 10 QB for the next 10+ years. Is that worth a 2nd round pick? Fuck yes At least to me it certainly is. all these qb's are projects... What rd was the last great qb taken?

Lynch comes across well in interviews that I have seen. He's a self-made player who needs coaching to reach his potential, but the physical gifts and natural ability are very intriguing.
The Jets have done their homework on him so, if they think he can grow into a long-term answer at QB, they should take him.
I don't like the idea of trading Mo AND our #20 to get him though. Hopefully he lasts until 20, or the Jets can trade Mo for a 1st rounder in the teens and use that to take him.
Is he a sure thing? No. But then no player in the draft is a sure thing. If there is one position where I am happy to see the Jets swing for the fences in the 1st, it's QB.

All this speculation about the Jets and Lynch makes me think they don't want him at all and want Hackenburg. god that would be depressing.

I think Lynch is a clearly superior prospect compared to Petty. Lynch has superior athletic traits. Honestly, Petty's tape at Baylor wasn't always great (neither was Lynch's).

Fuck yes At least to me it certainly is. it might be worth it but the problem with that plan is that we wont carry 4 QB's. If we resign Fitz or another vet then we have to get rid of Geno and who here really believes that Petty or this kid is ready to be a back up this year? This kid for all his size and mobility, I think I have been reading a lot about him needing time...as in he doesn't come from a pro system and he needs a lot of work reading defenses. Kind of like both of the young QB's we already have on the roster. Personally I like the kid. I saw him during his interview on first take and I thought he came across well. Funny, I remember right before Sanchez got drafted he was on a morning talk show in ny and I remember thinking, damn I hope we don't draft him....lol point is, I don't get the felling about this kid. I'd love to see him whizzing passes over the heads of the defense and hitting receivers in stride for some YAC. I just don't see him as being ready to be our main back up him or Petty and Geno is a reasonable, inexpensive backup option. I guess it all boils down to do we see this kid being able to AT LEAST back up this year and start next year. Rookies play all the time without the weapons this kid will have on the team this year.

This kid had BOTH issues apparently....not too bright AND played in a spread offense....lol and I like this kid...just dont know if I want to let my desperation for a franchise QB cloud the questions about him.

If Mac thinks we can coach him up to be a franchise QB with the proper grooming then I think he should go get him....that's where I stand with Lynch
unlike past regimes, I believe we'll be able to get the most out of any young QB with a veteran OC like Gailey leading the offense
The Jets saw him in his workout....they had him in for a visit and actually got to speak with him face to face...if the brain trust thinks all of the other naysayer stuff is bogus and the CS can get the most out of his talents then get him. Taking a QB is almost always a justifiable risk...Mac has to take his shot eventually anyways what are gonna wait for? Who knows what the next draft class will look like as of today...

Lynch is legit candidate to be the best QB out of this class. He's Big Ben and Aaron Rodgers rolled into one, I don't give a shit that he needs to adapt to an nfl offense.
This kid could be winning superbowls in 3 years - and some of you wanna bitch about what PART of round 1??? Fck off with that. Either you buy in or not. Don't tell me you're cool at 15, but not 10 or 8. That shit will fall on deaf ears in about 6 months

The only team really standing between the Jets and Lynch is MAYBE Buffalo. Only way I'd be in favor of moving into the Top 10 is if it's a package of #20 and Mo to move up. Not giving up a 1st rounder next year when it's totally within the realm of possibility that Fitz gets bent over a barrel during the first half of the season with the defenses that we're going to face.

You don't have to believe everything you read. There are those you have Lynch rated as highly (if not more) than the other two.
