Sit on for fishing. I have a Hobie Pro Angler. A fantastic machine. So I have heard. I would love to give it a try, but my fear is that I will fall out and lose all my fishing gear.

Kind of my point. Most of the time you are out smarted by something with a brain the size of a pea. im not saying it's a bad hobby at all. Gets you outside, looks relaxing. The older, bigger fish are smarter, and more wily. At least that's what I keep telling myself whilst catching runts. Still, there is a lot of science behind it. Time of year, water temperature, barometric pressure, moon phases..almost too much...if you try to think too much it ceases to be fun. So I just go out there and wing it. Yeah I get it. My buddy goes for blues/tuna out of Scituate harbor. Fucking obsessed. They land a tuna and its like they killed Bin Laden. Me? I like the boat ride.

I never understood why people are so proud when they catch a fish. I mean.....you outsmarted a fish. Because it's enjoyable.

The amount of moisture encountered prevents fishing from being my time away from the world. Cold, cold moisture.
Anayway been using river sit on top kayaks. I'm 6'; most get-in kayaks don't appeal. Russian river; 25 years. no rapids. for fishing Used to troll for small mouth just towing a line behind.

As you can see from my screen name, fishing is a passion. It's how I decompress and relax. I have caught trout in Montana, salmon in Washington, redfish in Louisiana, stripers in Lake Texoma (Oklahoma and Texas), sailfish in Florida, barracuda in the Caymans, wahoo in the Bahamas, tuna in North Carolina and every species possible in NY and NJ. Although I have done it hundreds of times, I still take a minute to appreciate the moment when the boat leaves the inlet and heads into the ocean. It's like a religious moment for me. For those that are bored by fishing, you need to think of new strategies during those slow times to catch fish. Maybe you change your bait. Maybe you cast to a different spot. It's funny with human nature. I've caught some beautiful fish over the years. However it's the ones that got away that remain in my mind.

What would Capt Porgy call southside, on the high seas? Starboardside?
