I still find it mind blowin that we are locked in a 3 month standoff considering paying 12 mil to a mediocre career journeyman backup QB. There is no need for him to be there right now, as with most veterans who know their duties. There really is no standoff. Unless you listen to and believe the media. The media owned and operated by Hillery Clintin.

this has got to be the most anti-climatic, shitty slash boring slash lame slash embarrassing Jets offseason I can remember.
We're stuck in a hold out with a backup quarterback nobody wants who's record against winning teams is like 6-35.
Jesus.

They used to be the SB champions of the off season. No more. I really do not want fitz back. That last game with the pressure and the playoffs on the line? I will never forgive that mick for ruining my day. Move the fuck on Maccagan. No one wants him!!! Let's see if geno can get it done with a real WR Corp. unless they decide to hold out for the season because they luv the Irish bearded loser. And in that case they can suck it too. Trade them to the lions.

I can't criticize the Jets FO for anything they've done with Fitz.
They've offered him exactly what he's worth...$12 million to be the 100% guaranteed starter this year and an incentive laden contract the final two years.
There is no contract "stand off" from the Jets perspective. They've made an offer, he can take it or go pound sand. Where else is Fitz gonna go where he is guaranteed to be the starter?
As for coming up with more $$$ to pay Fitz the $12 million, that's the least of the Jets problems. There are plenty of guys on the team (Decker and Marshall come to mind) who have large base salaries in 2016 that can be converted to a signing bonus and the Jets can then spread that cap hit out.
They won't be cutting anyone to pay Fitz.

Why would Fitz hurry to sign that? Take your time and you dont have to bother with all these practices.

They won't be cutting anyone to pay Fitz. Looking that way, and seems they can get the money needed without doing much, so whatever. Fitz will be there when it's time. He's gonna take the deal, he knows it, the Jets know it, really not any kind of big deal at all.
