I'll be that guy....The book was much better. Ironman thing was a joke in the book not how it happened. Much more scientific explanation for the things that aren't very apparent. Such as the tarp works because the atmosphere on Mars is so thin that it could actually be possible. They cut out some good stuff to make the movie and changed the ending for the worse in my opinion. He dies at the end? No but it is a more realistic rescue.

Agreed. Book was excellent, Hollywood made due (mostly successfully) to accommodate the short attention spans of theater goers.

yes. read the book first. the movie and book were both entertaining. i thought the writing style was pretty lame but the whole idea was pretty interesting and problems that were encountered seemed plausible. i guess were not going to mars any time soon.

I heard in the book Stretch from the Fantastic Four boards when they resupply and he grabs him. Is this true?

I went to read the book but there where no pictures, so I saw the movie.
I have to admit, I was enjoying the movie right up to the scene where he fixes the hole with plastic and duct tape. what's the temp on Mars, and he is fine 10 feet from the plastic wall but freezing his balls off in the car thing,,,, come on new.
