8-8. Too many tough road games to expect any better. (Arizona, Pittsburgh, Kansas City).

12-4. all depends on the run game being effective. imo the offense is much better but the defense is better still. and special teams will have made the biggest jump. all too often the jets have been able to play hard for the full 60 minutes only to have one aspect of their game fall apart. last season the specials cost them. this season they have more depth at wr and in the secondary. and these guys have something to prove.

If everything possible aligns then yes...shades of 1998...12-4 would be insanely marvelous....

I'd like to believe a 11-5 with a deep playoff appearance is ahead of us.... but it's more likely Fitz struggles/injured, Marshall has a meltdown, Forte checks out, and our Oline is a disaster. We finish 6-10 with a very frustrated and pissed off defense -- and all eyes on Mac next season to do more than just "hope" Hack works out.

Honestly the Special Teams scare me. We don't have anyone who can field a punt cleanly and I think we get burnt a few times this year because we out kick our coverage. I'd give up five yards in his net if he would put it out of bounds.

Ugh...I see us going 1 - 5 to start the season and it won't be much better after that. Maybe 6 and 10 and another painful season. Will the Namath curse ever be lifted and God will let us have another franchise QB?

I think the O line is another year older, and another year slower. I think Fitz will be the Fitz we all know the previous years of his career. He got lucky last year with a lot of dropped picks. Forte isn't gonna do shit, IMO. Too old now. I really don't see where the Jets upgraded their roster from last season. No one will take them lightly this year. They always suck after a surprisingly good season. 5-6 wins max.

11-5 I think the Pats fall back to earth this year. Homer. 10-6 again, but a better 10-6 than last year and a wildcard spot.

I have us 8-8. I really want to be optimistic, but I have little faith in Fitz and our OL scares me. Going to be tough to beat some of the defenses we go up against this year with a limited QB and a paper thin offensive line.
A couple of swing games can get us to 10 -- starting with Cincy. If we can demonstrate that we can beat a playoff team at home in week 1, then I will feel a lot better about our chances for the rest of the season.
At least until we play Buffalo on Thursday night.

My initial thought was 9-7. When I posted up the schedule and went through it, I'll be damned I have 11-5. So I will say 10-6 Wild Card Playoff TeamW - Cincinnati Bengals W - at Buffalo Bills (Thu) L - at Kansas City Chiefs L - Seattle Seahawks L - at Pittsburgh Steelers L - at Arizona Cardinals (Mon) W - Baltimore Ravens W - at Cleveland Browns W - at Miami Dolphins W - Los Angeles Rams W - New England Patriots W - Indianapolis Colts (Mon) ---- Colts O-line looks like shit again W - at San Francisco 49ers W - Miami Dolphins (Sat) L - at New England Patriots (Sat) W - Buffalo Bills ------- Rex gets fired 2 wins over the Bills, that never happens. And where is the LA game? I think we get crushed. There's your 8-8. L - Cincinnati Bengals W - at Buffalo Bills (Thu) L - at Kansas City Chiefs L - Seattle Seahawks L - at Pittsburgh Steelers L - at Arizona Cardinals (Mon) W - Baltimore Ravens W - at Cleveland Browns W - at Miami Dolphins W - Los Angeles Rams W - New England Patriots W - Indianapolis Colts (Mon) ---- Colts O-line looks like shit again W - at San Francisco 49ers W - Miami Dolphins (Sat) L - at New England Patriots (Sat) W - Buffalo Bills ------- This game scares me because the only thing Rex does well is win meaningless games to save his a$$ Record 10-6? ONLY if our OL can pass protect and allow us to run the ball. If not, this will be a brutal season. Again, things always change in the NFL and these games are crazy and totally unpredictable.

Another thing you need to factor in is what the team spirit and energy will be if they start 1-5 or 1-6. Many teams don't continue to play at a high level when they start so shitty.
