Eh, Stokes, we're any of the women in the second story of your adventure hot? The chick that led the trip was pretty cute--but too tall and skinny. There was a very cute smaller chick but she was not svelte. The Mexican hostesses were very cute. _

Here you go dudes. I was not exagerating.
From inside the cage. You can see me at about :56 and 2:02 in the far surface cage. The shark at :29 is an 18 foot pregnant female--the size of a short school bus--checked in and swam off. Check out the shark scarring at 2:27. The dude at 2:44 was Yann, a certifiable hero. Likely gets laid alot too.
From the other submersible cage. These two show the whole story underneath.
The 18 footer comes in about 1:27 of the first clip.
At :30 you see clearly the shark biting the air hose. Then a real tight turn. 1:08 the shrak lurches forward and lodges itself in the cage and Yann bolts to the surface. Yann swims back down at 1:39 then the 18 footer comes by for a sniff. 4:00 other sharks swimming around.
There are other videos from up top, I have one, haven't been given permission to post.

Thanks for sharing Stokes.
After seeing both of those incidents I'm kind of surprised how easy they breached the cages. In the one I posted he goes right through the bars, in yours through the top. WTF?

WTF? I have no idea how the shark breached the surface cage on the other boat. Our surface cages were VERY thick and the viewing holes were tight enough not to let a shark of any size in. That looked like a pretty young male but still the reports are that it "broke through" the cage. Would have been impossible on our surface cages. On our incident--the top balcony is always open and that's where the dive master is. Although I will say the openings on the submersible cages are much wider than the surface cages, the tubes are not as thick and I can't believe it hasn't happened more often. Our boat is having talks now with the National Park--I think they are going to reinforce the cages with smaller openings so that it can't happen again. _

I'm fascinated and terrified of sharks. It's weird because if you have me jump in the open water at the surface with nothing but dark blue ocean beneath me, I'll be thinking 'shark' the entire time and would stay 5 minutes in the water, fuck that. But, when I dove in the Bahamas, with great visbility I saw a few sharks just a couple of feet away and I was surprised about how calm I was.

In all honesty, there was nothing scary about being in the cages--even after the incident. They are incredibly beautiful and MOSTLY docile animals--they were very comfortable being around the cages. I think next up for me are Manta Rays, whale sharks and hammerheads. _
