+1 on Melatonin Probably wouldn't need more than 10mg. Your body produces it naturally so this is really just a supplement. Don't take it at like midnight though....you may no wake up until Noon the next day. Years ago I went to AC with my brother in law. Can't sleep so he gives me Melatonin at about 4am. Get up about 10am and I'm in a fog. Take a shower and I'm still in a fog. Go downstairs, pour a coffee, pour the sugar in the ashtray and put my cigarette out in the coffee. I'm like WTF? Brother in law sits down and I tell him what I did. Turns out he gave me more than the recommended dosage, and you are supposed to get 8 hours of sleep. It works but watch that shit.

That should give you a solid 6 hours. No after effects. I took 2 when I first started using them... slept from 3pm until 8pm and then was out of it for 2 hours, then back to bed. Granted, you can't OD on the stuff... but I guess if you take enough, you'll end up like Sleeping Beauty.

Focus on the mg. Melatonin is often sold in 5mg, 10mg, etc. When I had trouble sleeping about 6 months ago while going through the death of a relative I started with 5mg. It helped, but not quite enough. I went to 10mg and it worked perfectly. So I'd say start small and work your way up. A month later I wasn't taking it anymore.
