We can relax, Decker was just on Hahn & Humpty.
Said he'll only be on crutches for a few weeks and then he'll have the shoulder surgery.
He said the "8 months" is not really the time frame--he said most guys are feeling better within 6-8 weeks and the rest of the time is for strengthening the shoulder so it doesn't get injured again.
He said he's not anticipating missing any time.
Btw, the hip is something that was bothering since he was in Denver. The staff figured, let's get it done now while he has all this extra time (being on IR) to heal both injuries rather than, for instance, playing a full season next year and having the surgery after the season with less time to heal.

Decker has his shoulder surgery yesterday starting the 8 month rehab clock.
He'll be rehabbing the hip and shoulder at the same time. Should be back for the start of training camp.
