This sucks.
Harris has been a great Jet and is still a good player.
I'd rather have David Harris for $6.5M than Demario Davis at $4M.

Sucks to see but was coming sooner or later. It is nice to see the Jets finally getting young across the board.
Official Tank 2017.

Great Jet. Thank you, David, for 10 great years.
And thank you for what might have been the biggest Jets defensive play of those 10 years.

All part of the rebuild. It was time. Wouldn't be surprised to see Decker traded once he shows he is 100% healthy.

Bowles thinks Harris can still provide "quality" play (which I agree). Mac sees the return of Davis (which cost the Jets a 1st and 3rd draft pick to bring him back) making Harris expendable in order to save $6.5MM in cap space. What the fuck? ? Mac is killing you guys with his piss-poor decisions! BTW, I always thought Harris was a very good player and enjoyed watching him play.

Not saying anyone is doing this, but you can't be all for the Hets tanking/rebuilding this year, then bemoan them making a move like this. I wish it wouldn't have leaked like that, but I have no issues with cutting him.

Harris was always a very good player for us, but cutting him is no dead money on the cap, and if this is a rebuild, which it is, might as well let the younger guys play. He's 33. ESPN was speculating Davis could replace him full time in 2018.
He'll be missed, but he's also not getting cut in the prime of his career.
