^^ This. He stinks. He has a huge leg but it's a 50/50 bomb or shank at this point. That doesn't get it done. He usually chokes in those situations too. He finally got a good one away in a pressure situation. And let's not kid oursleves, the 70 yarder was a 45-50 yarder, muffed catch with a 20 yard bounce. lol i haven't seen a guy run up then backwards like that in a long time

Lets face it. We won that game because Jacksonville made as many mistakes as we made -- but they made a couple in huge spots late in the 4th and in OT. They stopped playing on the Powell TD early which gifted us 7 points (credit to Powell for knowing he wasn't touched and getting up to keep the play alive). Marqise Lee holds on to a pass that hit him in the hands in OT that would have put them into FG range. And then I think it was Lee who also muffed the catch to turn the punt into a 70 yarder. Posluzny with the personal foul on the Jax punt so we started the possession in FG range. They also had a late TD called back on an unnecessary holding penalty downfield.
A series of bad Jax mistakes gave us that game after we almost gave it up on mistakes of our own.

He's a massive upgrade on Quigley that's all I'll say.

They made mistakes because we beat the fcuk out of their Field General. common dawg - James Lofton was saying so. HOF

I was thinking the exact same thing last night: He has these guys playing and caring. If they go anywhere near 7 wins then he's a legit coach, end of story. Honestly the defense is playing the way we had always hoped it would. He has young kids producing. Maybe those 2 safeties in the first 2 rounds were genius? Sheldon was addition by subtraction. I liked the back to back safeties at the time, and even moreso now that jetrepulsions guy Dalvin Cook just tore his ACL.

And think about it ... we could have easily had Deshaun Watson in the draft ... it's sickening ... it's vintage Jets ... they suck. Even if we go 2-14 and get 1st pick, we can fuck that up, hello Blair Thomas etc... True ... but I don't think we're going 2 & 14. If McCown stays healthy I believe we can go 6 & 10 or 7 & 9 ... with a victory or two against the upper crust. That's if McCown continues to play. Watson went 12th ... so there may be hope. My hope is that the Jets break the curse that's inhibited them all these years ... probably for being the first AFL team to beat the NFL ... really believe this, like the curse of the Bambino or Billy goat. Also ... once again starting to change my mind about Bowles. The guy got rid of all the problem players in the locker room from last season. Looks like he's in complete control. And this morning on Boomer, they were talking about how Bowles comes across publicly ... with virtually nothing ... but that what is hidden from the press and the fans is his true locker room demeanor ... that he truly has a wicked temper, and a lightening striking, course, racy vocabulary with the players when he feels it's necessary. Hey ... are we talking 3 & 2, going into Foxborough?
