We all know that hack is awful and the only reason he is even around is he was a 2nd rounder, it will save him for next year as well though it shouldn't. Petty on the other hand has showed enough to get playing time. What he lacks in the brain dept from mccown he make sup with a better arm and a bit more ballsy style of play. You simply cannot totally evaluate a player just from practice. The absolute nail in the coffin for bowles will be if once the jets are eliminated he still trots out mccown Hack sucks. And everyone except Macc knew it over 2 years ago. Now I know why the Texans were always 6-10 or 8-8 every year since like forever. They had idiots like Macc running the team. We aren’t the patient sort like they are down there. This franchise is running in a perpetual circle of below mediocrity since that four eyed fool has been running the show.

My feeling is that the the FO believes they both suck. We will never have a franchise QB. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeever! I think Mac knows Hack sucks and if Petty has any success it will further show what a fuck up the Hack pick was. _ This

Drafting QBs ... they draft like a Jet. Look at the last four ... Sanchez, Smith, Petty, Hackenberg. Not one of them gets on the field ... is Sanchez even in the league anymore? No NFL team uses more draft picks on quarterbacks than the New York Jets ...

And you forgot Tajh Boyd and Greg McElroy. There is not one QB drafted by the Jets that has completed a pass in a regular season NFL game this year. And we have drafted 8 QBs in the last 12 years.

I can't imagine how bad we would look with Hackenberg or Petty in there. Would not be a marketable product in my opinion.

Can't argue with you. But I think Bowles wants to win some more game, and Mcown gives him the best chance to do so. And just as important, I believe that Jets' management feels very strongly that neither Petty or Hack are worth a damn ... especially Hack. But when they get down to a few games left, like two or three, one of them will get a start. And he may bring one of them in if they're out of it in the 3rd or 4th quarter. They're heading into some really good teams in the next few weeks, so look for substitutions late in blowout games. Wouldn't you have thought after scoring a mere 3 points in the first half he would have done something to give his team a spark? _ No ... the game was still too close.

No ... the game was still too close. Too close for what? _ At the half it was 3 to 3. Bowles was probably thinking McCown was their best bet for another score or so. You know how he thinks. His big issue is who gives them the best chance to win.

But this coming week may be different. The Panthers may score quite a bit in the 1st half, or by the 3 quarter mark. And if the game looks definitely lost, Bowles may bring in one of them ... probably Petty.
