Let the midgets take him and pass on a QB. Hopefully the jets move up to 3 and take rosen. You can't build a team without a franchise qb. Interesting that you feel that way after celebrating missing out on the only known franchise QB available.
Fuck cousins. He'll eat up the salary cap and he's not even that good. The guy has won nothing in this league. All he'd do is guarantee us more mediocrity and middle first round picks. Get a young QB for cheap and build a team. Look at the eagles with wentz.

If Cousins is mediocre / not that good, then I have a hypothetical (admittedly a worthless one since Cousins is already gone).
Rookie QB comes in. In year 2, he throws for 4,000 yards. In years 3 & 4 he also throws for 4,000 yards. The team never wins more than 8 games though, and the supporting cast is never quite up to par in that timeframe.
Would you resign the QB? To what would certainly be a well over $100M contract?

Resign him because he'll only be, what, 25 or 26 years old or so at that time. Just entering the prime of his career and hopefully only getting better while this team hopefully continues to improve. This team is not even close to being able to compete or win a super bowl and cousins will soon be on the wrong side of 30. No thanks. He needs to be on a win now team like the vikings. That's the right situation for that guy. Two completely different scenarios

Two completely different scenarios I might argue that the scenarios aren't that far apart when you consider how long good QBs play, but fair response and I guess in the end it doesn't matter at this point.
Now all the Jets need to do is draft that QB that with the ability to throw for 4,000 yards in three consecutive seasons. I'm sure this will be the year that happens, after the 50-year wait...

Now if we were built like the vikings, i'd feel differently. Then I'd definitely want cousins and his salary cap eating contract here. They're potentially a solid QB away right now. I get it's a gamble, but we've got to keep drafting QB's until we finally get it right. Hopefully this is the year it finally happens. And if not, we're exactly where we've always been. Just more bad football. Kind of used to it at this point.

Reports the Jets are now looking/targeting Teddy Bridgewater after losing the Cousins sweepstakes to the Vikes......no thanks on Teddy.

I just hope one of the top four QBs is still available at No. 6. Actually, I'd rather trade up to make sure I get one. Or the Jets could sit back and hope Kirk Cousins pulls a reverse Antoine Winfield. the dreaded RAW (Reverse Antoine Winfield)! Only thing worse is Spider 2 Y Banana!

I wasn’t pulling for Cousins to land here, but I’m sure I would have gotten on board if he did. At least we wouldn’t be standing with our dick in our hands during the draft.
Mac is going to fuck this up, isn’t he?

Cousins wanted to get paid again. I'm thinking he might be offering like 7/200 with 150 guaranteed to get him to change his mind.
