Well, I'm glad they didn't sign Bridgewater. However, I'm not happy about $10M for McCown, but the tea leaves are getting a bit clearer. The Jets will draft a QB at 6 or higher. Darnold seems to be the top QB but I was not really impressed with his play last season. Rosin impressed me by his play but I'm wary about his durability, he looks frail compared to the others. Both Mayfield and Allen played well but there are questions about being NFL ready and accuracy. However, there are no concerns about leadership or durability with either. Some mock drafts have Allen being picked very early which doesn't seem to fit conventional logic. In my mind, the Jets take Darnold, Rosin, Mayfield or Allen, in that order. Mayfield is the most accurate passer (like 70 percent completion percentage) in this draft class or many recent draft classes. Take him at 6, he will probably be there, and make this nightmare franchise kinda exciting again. Who will he throw too (since Macc couldn’t sign one of the top FA WRs) is another question. I hate Macc more than idzik. He’s a boring total waste of space non deal making fucking idiot.

I think we had to be proactive. If we wait a couple of days hoping for the 1 percent chance that the Cousins to Minnesota thing falls through, our fallback options could have been gone.
Look, we're unlikely to have a bright future if we don't draft someone in the first round who becomes a franchise quarterback. However, I love what we did today. I've heard quite a few NFL people and analysts say that McCown is the perfect mentor for a young QB -- almost like having another QB coach. Bridgewater was an ascending prospect before the horrible knee injury. He's only 25. If he returns to health, he has as much potential to become a solid starter as almost any other free agent QB available. I believe he has a higher ceiling than McCarron, who is probably the best remaining free agent QB.
Hey, we got the top cornerback in free agency, the best run-stuffing inside linebacker, and a promising running back with relatively fresh legs. And free agency hasn't yet officially started, and we still have plenty of money left. I hope we attack the offensive line next.

That's the contract for McCown. Teddy got 1 year, $5M. Good gamble in my opinion and don't make trading up a super duper pressing need if we like more than 1 QB in the draft. Much like how the Browns got Tyrod to probably take Barkley at 1 & let a QB fall to them at 4. Here's the thing. Cousins wanted to meet with the Vikings before he agreed to anything. He hasn't had the meeting yet. Why sign these two scrubs before Cousins makes a decision. Cousins is a funny guy. If he doesn't click with Minn he could blow them off. What was the hurry? Gotta assume his agent (also McCown's agent) gave the Jets a heads up. Probably just needed us for some last minute leverage before final decision. Once Shefter announced it though, I knew Cousins truly made up his mind. So yeah, why wait? McCown it seems is getting prepped to be our QB Coach in 2019. I think we're going to match up Teddy vs. our Rookie and see what happens. I'm fine with it. Trumaine,McCown & Teddy makes up Cousins contract. Lol

Goodbye Petty & Hack. Jets will still move up and draft a QB. That’s the best part of all this. Jets draft QB, goodbye hack n petty! of course, now they need some serious O line help, but that’s not important right now....

Maybe the Jets weren't willing to fully guarantee a 3 year deal.

Macc will be forced to admit his huge mistake - that hack sucks as bad as everyone in the universe (except him) knew for 3 years.

Maybe the Jets weren't willing to fully guarantee a 3 year deal. Why on earth would Cousins want to come here... guaranteed money or not? He had a choice between a team that could be a SB contender or one that has been a toilet bowl contender. I said all along that he was not coming here.

so far I like the moves they've made ... and I want to feel good about things leading up to the draft ... but one feeling refuses to go away ... every time I see Maccagnan's face in the papers it reminds me that he is a moron, destined to fuck up the Jets and his career. Can't shake it ... when I listen to him say nothing during his news conferences, and compare him to other GMs ... and I'm not necessarily talking about the really good GMs ... I mean just about any NFL GM ... when I listen to him, I have to admit that he is a fucking asshole. You can see it in his face ... he has the face of a fucking idiot.

It was a choice. Nobody forced us. We could have all jumped ship years ago. But no.... we soldiered on. We kept the faith that one day it would all be worth it. that one day, we would see the Jets as Champions and feel the glory as they rode down the Canyon of Heroes as we all cheered. But of course this never happened. And in your mind, you don't honestly believe it will ever happen. In your mind, you believe that we are destined to NFL's version of the movie "Groundhog Day". The same outcome day after day... month after month... year after year. And yet here you are. Here we all are. Why??? Why I ask you??? Because we are all fucking idiots!!! Who the fuck else would put themselves through this misery every year??? So embrace Mac... with his face of a fucking idiot. He's just like us.

I like the Bridgewater signing this could be another Drew Brees type situation. What I don't like is wasting 10 million on a Jag QB who is going to suck up valuable playing time from a rookie(if the Jets draft one) and Bridgewater. All Mccown is doing is taking up playing time that can be used to get a Young QB whether that's Bridgewater or the rookie to continue to build a foundation for the future instead we live in the narrow mind of Mac who thinks Mccown will give them a playoff run when all it is doing is slowing the development of a young QB. All this will do is give the Jets a few more wins nothing more. This is why I hate Mac if you are rebuilding a team 39 year old QBs don't work they just get in the way. I am hoping I'm wrong but still believe they will not trade up and will skip an early pick of the many QB prospects coming out. Mac is a very limited GM who can not think outside the box this wasn't a bad free agency but it could have been better the Jets waited 24 hours for Cousins and did not engage the tampering period meaning he could not multi task his priorities. The Jets still need a center Richberg was a better free agent and the Jets could have capitalize on it by him only to have to change locker rooms. Long is good fits the scheme but has bee injured every year he has played he wont be an upgrade if he cant stay on the field.
Trumaine Johnson was a solid pick up but the Jets over paid for him maybe they had too because no one wants to play for them which ask the Question why not overpay for Jenkins? The Jets have no decent options at TE. The one signing I love is Crowell that was a great pick up this guy is explosive and runs hard he will pound the hole a back with good size and speed will add a dimension this team hasn't had in a while. Avery Williamson good LB problem he didn't play 3rd downs like Davis did so is he a full time LBer?

McCown signing is like having a QB coach for the youngun's. $10m for a QB coach. I had no idea they made that much. Probably could have not paid McCown and just hired a QB coach, and save $10m on the cap. But what the fuck do I know..
