What's the point? Dickhead Giants are going to take him. I hope so. This guy has so many red flags.

To be fair, Mac will be selecting a QB with the third overall pick this time, rather than with a second- or fourth-round pick. I don't think he necessarily drafted Hackenberg or Petty with the idea that they were definitely going to be the franchise QB. Both were gambles that didn't work out. Now he's going to get a guy that everyone projects to be worthy of a high first-round pick. His pick won't automatically be a 10-15-year franchise QB for us, but the odds certainly are greater this time that he will.History suggests we have about a 50% chance of hitting on a Top 5 QB. Certainly better odds than a second or 4th rounder, but when you look at the history of top5 QBs, there is still a pretty big miss factor. Probably the most important guy on this team for the next couple of season is Jeremy Bates. I have no confidence in Bowles ability to develop a QB, nothing we have seen in his 3 seasons would suggest that he or his staff can. There was no evident development in Bryce Petty from Year 1 to Year 3 -- he still looked like a lost rookie when he stepped in this season. And forget about Hack -- there is nothing any of us have seen that could possibly suggest that he has been developed. It has got to be up to Bates, can he help whomever we take - Allen/Rosen/Darnold/Mayfield develop into a Top 10 QB. For the record, here is a list of all QBs drafted top 5 in the last 30 years (excluding the most recent few years since it is too early to pass judgement). I grouped the QBs into Franchise QBs, Solid Starters (guys who started most of their careers but floated around the league), and busts. Franchise (14) | Starter (3) | Bust (11)
| Recent Picks (7)
| Alex Smith
| Jeff George
| Akili Smith
| Blake Bortles
| Andrew Luck
| Kerry Collins
| David Carr
| Carson Wentz
| Cam Newton
| Sam Bradford
| Heat Shuler
| Jameis Winston
| Carson Palmer
|
| Jamarcus Russell
| Jared Goff
| Donovan McNabb
|
| Joey Harrington
| Marcus Mariota
| Drew Bledsoe
|
| Mark Sanchez
| Mitch Trubisky
| Eli Manning
|
| Rick MIrer
| Patrick Mahomes
| Matt Ryan
|
| Robert Griffin
|
| Matthew Stafford
|
| Ryan Leaf
|
| Michael Vick
|
| Tim Couch
|
| Peyton Manning
|
| Vince Young

Of the 28 guys, 14 are considered franchise QBs, and you could probably argue that a couple of the "franchise" guys belong in the starter category (Bledsoe, Palmer, Vick). 50% hit rate. Do we have the coaching staff/scouting staff to push the odds higher than 50%. I hope so, but I don't have a lot of confidence in our decision makers/coaching staff. I just hope they get it right. Not to be homerish, but if you compare Sanchez to the rest of the QBs on that list, there's no way he should be labeled a bust. Save for Vince Young, none of them had close to the margin of success that Sanchez did. Couple with his run with the Eagles, I'd have to say you give him starter status.

I was really focusing on number of starts the guy has had in his career. Collins started 180 games, George started over 120. Bradford at 80 is the closest comparison to Sanchez (72), but Bradford's starts were limited due to injury. Aside from the one year with the Snoopy Bowl injury, Mark has been relatively healthy. Either way, it is a subjective measure and whether you consider Sanchez a bust or not, it does not change the point that 50% of the Top 5 QBs do not reach "franchise QB" status.

What's the point? Dickhead Giants are going to take him. What does the Giants trade of JasonPierre-Paul to Tampa do to the draft? Will they take a QB or a highly rated DE pass rusher? Not sure but it leads to some interesting possibilities for the draft. I wI’ll say it again... I want nothing to do with Rosen. The concussions & shoulder scare the hell out of me. And don’t forget, he’s comes from a wealthy family. This guy is definitely going to end up on the sidelines without a helmet a lot and possibly out of the league early. Not sure it’s true but I have heard that he does not love football and players who don’t love the game are more likely to have shorter careers. After the JPP trade, I think the giants take Chubb. My dream draft would be: Allen Chubb Darnold

There's not a singe FA move they made this year that looks like they'll be rebuilding (and taking a QB) rather than trying to reload. A DEN trade is the darkhorse worry - def a possibility - but low odds IMO. And DEN has been linked more to Allen or Mayfield anyhoo

From December ^ by Voch
from last month ^ by Sam Gold
Just give them a watch if you have doubts about Broadway Baker. All I'm saying is...he makes big boy throws & he relates to his teammates. Same way teammates relate to Josh (see. Jamal Adams tweets calling him Uncle Josh & the video of his playing basketball and dunking on dudes). Josh McCown would be the perfect mentor for him honestly. To help his progressions. His accuracy with his care to want to win & attitude is much needed. I'd go to war with him as our franchise QB. All I'm saying, if the Jets thought the Broncos were taking Baker & already assumed at least 2 QBs would be gone by the Broncos pick, I would've traded up too. Dare the Bills to trade all their capital for Rosen at 2 & still end up with Baker at 3 at worst.
Rosen is still 1A for me but like I said, Baker is 1B, not 2.

I am increasingly coming to the same conclusion. If we come away with Rosen or Baker at 3, I will be happy. Since the trade up, I have watched more and more of all the top QBs. Allen is far too big a risk at 3. Amazing arm, far too inconsistent. Baker performs well in every department, apart from height. And, to me, that's something he has proved he can overcome.
