I can see both sides. Yes Serena was getting beat and she handled it poorly. And yes Poor Osaka, having her win tainted like that. Yes Serena was being a bit cunty, but she has been cheated and fucked over so many times. Especially at the US Open. Remember 2004? Oh please, it happens to all of them, man, woman, alike...different judges etc. How much has Serena won since Capriati retired? Guess the plot is inconsistent.

Maybe so, but that 2004 match was like nothing I’ve ever seen before with the bad calls. It was like the fix was in.

"They" waited 14 years and thousands of sets later to exact their revenge? Common. When the average schlub has a bad day, he/she sucks. When Serena does..she gets to be a womans activist and victim? Not buying it. Hope that 20 year old she sh*t on today with her antics vows to end her career.

Serena was getting her ass kicked up and down the court the entire match. Were the judges calls unfair? Probably. But she should have relied n her game to win instead of reducing herself to delay tactics to try to throw the Jap off her game.

The coaching violation call was harsh since it’s so widespread but still She should have taken it in stride instead of all the huff and puff misplaced pride BS.
Poor Japanese girl was apologizing for winning while everyone booed and Serena ignoring her.

Was the crowd booing Serena or Osaka?

Wow just watched the brouhaha on Sportscenter. Serena’s a fucking cunt. You got beat, plain and simple. Those penalties wouldn’t have made a difference. Serena so many sour grapes, could make a barrel of crap wine.

Poor Japanese girl was apologizing for winning while everyone booed and Serena ignoring her. Serena gave Osaka a huge hug right after the match. Her first comment to the crowd was, “stop booing now”. She was effusive in her praise of Osaka, both on court, and during her news conference afterwards. Folks, the crowd wasn’t booing Osaka. There was never an explanation given on why there was a game penalty. Notice the loud boos for Tom Rinaldi, followed by the boos for the USTA lady. l can’t defend the behavior of Serena. It was wrong and out of line. However, the game penalty was way over the line. Rackets get smashed, judges get cursed out all of the time. A game penalty is never assessed. Especially at a Grand Slam Final. I think the hatred for Serena is coloring some opinions on here.

I think the boos were for Serena to shut up stop arguing and play.
No question Serena acted like a little baby.

And perhaps Serena's color is influencing the opinions of others? And all that magnanimous "telling people to stop booing" was nothing more than damage control. Serena was smart enough to know what a toxic atmosphere she created for a 20 year old kid who had beaten her legit...and was now using the moment to "rise above it all". Please. And for the record, I always hated McEnroe for his behaviour too..and he was penalized plenty in his day but he could never fall back on a lame victim excuse.

You can’t trust the Japs. They are very sneaky. You owe me an apology! My Dad used to sing a song from WWII. “We’re gonna have to slap, A dirty little jap, And Uncle Sams the one that can Do it, do it, do it.” Wouldn’t buy a Toyota either.

Benoit Paire this year received a warning, a point penalty and a game penalty all within 2 minutes. His meltdown is pretty funny (and after only 10 minutes of game time): As for Serena, I have nothing against her. But yelling “you need to apologize “ to a ref over and over will never end well. I do think it was Uber harsh though. In a final is unheard of but isn’t an excuse.

We've had a couple thousands of years here, it is really time for humans to die off.
