Only three players remain from that draft. Only three from the 2011 draft as well. Not impressive although one looks to be a potential HOFer. Three out of 7? Isn't that about par for the course? I see what people mean by their first impression of his demeanor, like he lacks that killer instict you need to be a GM. Not saying it will turn out that way but other people dealing with him may get that same first impression. It will be interesting to see how it works out. 3 of 8 in 2011 and 3 of 9 in 2013 (only 2 seasons ago). Comparing to Idziks so-called disastrous 2014 draft where 8 of 12 remain (all four on the 3rd day) and 6 of 7 from 2013. If this guy was brought in to be a difference maker from a draft perspective, I don't see the evidence. Again, I'm not here to slam the new guy but present the facts. But I'm also not an Idzik apologist as his biggest failures were in FA IMO. And since we will likely have to spend upwards of 60M, wouldn't it be more prudent to have recruiting/negotiating skills in this new GM?

You're leaving out the major fact that he was not picking those players, he was just the head of scouting. You can't compare what Idzik did when this guy never had the final say on who the Texans selected.
