My 1st game at Shea when I was 10 or so, we came by boat with my father and a friend of his (who owned the zodiac). They scalped tickets in front of the stadium (my dad's big theory was prices dropped once the national anthem played). I ended up alone in the nosebleeds, litterally the last row in the stadium. Different times! I'd never do that today with my kid. lol different times my ass. That was a dick move. Pretty sure he asked a stranger to watch over me.

Agree. The NFL has become a joke. Don't get me wrong I still watch it but my commitment isn't a given anymore. When younger, it would have been unthinkable to miss a Jets game if I had the ability to watch. Now, not so much. Also, I just heard the Christmas day games were purchased by Netflix for $150M. I just saw that both male and female versions of his jersey have been sold out. And the people at the college enjoyed his speech. It was a religious institution. I wont be watching the games on Christmas or any Peacock games. I refuse to shell out more money to companies that hate me. Your own team has been hating you for decades.

Funny, I was never a fan of the rail yards. Never. Think of all the logistics/vehicles/buses/deliveries associated with an average NFL game. Think about the Meadowlands on opening day? Vehicles as far as the eye can see, some parked a mile away in lots you never imagined would be used. Where are all these vehicles being stored? What about tail-gating? I dont think one can seriously underestimate how much part of the fandom culture that one element is. I dont think the train alone can reasonably handle the volume of people in and out especially post-game sans tailgating, but it would essentially be the only viable option to get there, eliminating many in the tri-state area who dont have a train option. The whole thing sounded pie in the sky to me, despite Sheldon Silver being a scumbag. Was just at Citifield for a game last week (friend had suit tix) and I still believe that area is perfect for a combo/soccer/football stadium. LIE, Grand Central, LIRR, 7 train. even a marina all there (as always). It's a no brainer, imho, if executed correctly. IF, lolz They talked about sailgating to the rail yards. Park somewhere like Weehawken for people in NJ and take a booze cruise ferry to the stadium. Like the cruise to Army games... seastreak.com/tour-and-event-cruises/west-point-football-game-day-cruise/My 1st game at Shea when I was 10 or so, we came by boat with my father and a friend of his (who owned the zodiac). Actually those calls were atrocious, IMO. Every keeper moves before the kick. Just like the kicker isn't supposed to stop or slow down, you have guys litterally doing 360's and cartwheels before the kick now.
