Oregon wins their first national title 56-42 over Ohio State.
Marcus Mariota throws for 308 yards 3 TDs and rushes for one more.

As an SEC guy living in the heart of Big 10 country, the last thing I want to see is an Ohio State victory. I have already taken enough shit over the SEC's first down year in a decade, it will only get worse if a Big 10 team wins the national title.
I don't think its gonna happen.
Oregon 44 Ohio State 31.

OSU 33 ORE 27
OSU controls TOP, ORE cools off in the 2nd half and the game gets away from them. Mariota wilts and Jones/Elliot take over.

I thought it would be closer but this didn't surprise me at all. I hope Mariota doesn't slide to us. I don't really want either QB but I'd hate picking Winston less.

I picked OSU. My thinking was: You're not going to beat Urban Meyer with the offense that he pioneered. Oregon's offense isn't exactly the same, but Meyer is the biggest reason why the spread option has become the predominant offensive scheme in college football. I still remember watching Bowling Green play Toledo years ago and thinking "WTF am I watching?"
Also, in hindsight....Urban Meyer won 2 national championships with Tim Tebow.

Also, I've gone back to believing that Winston is light years ahead of Mariota as an NFL prospect. Mariota doesn't know how to play QB. Not in a real offense. He's got tools, but he's got more work to do than Geno did.

Yea, pretty much nailed it.... and you in turn nailed my concern, being Mariota on the clock at #6... Thankfully, I don't think it'll happen. Despite all the concerns, I think the Bucs will still pull the trigger. And if not, TEN maybe. (still think WSH takes Winston).. If he does slide to us, it think it only be because the scouting community as a whole found too many flaws or concerns - in which case, we're passing him too. Right now, to me, he's a late first round pick, early 2nd. That's where I'd value him. All the blue chips would have to be gone.

He's got tools, but he's got more work to do than Geno did. When you limit the damage Mariota does with his feet, Oregons scheme is very beatable and Mariota doesn't look like the all world QB. Thats the major concern with him in the NFL, he isn't going to be able run like he did in college and the are a lot of people who question if he is equipped to beat you from the pocket.
