Thankfully Congress stepped up, the tariffs are f’ing us not China, say hi to the farmers. Scaremongering aside temporary tariffs on Chinese goods would not F us. Surprisingly there are many other places to buy from and where companies can manufacture goods. There is already a swing to move manufacturing out of China. China is a problem in many ways and undermining an attempt to reign them in because it is Trump doing the reigning is short sighted and harmful to the country. Sanctions exist on Russia because of the Congress. As for China, the random tweets to sway the markets can only last so long. The farmers are getting crushed even as we put 16 billion dollars in the big corporate farmers. China is a problem unfortunately we do not have an Administration capable to handle it.

Like you have any idea. The problems with China have been growing for decades. Saint Obama kissed their asses while his vp gave them favored status in exchange for favors for his son.

Absolutely, China has benefited from the global economy for decades. We are a consumer based nation and have exploited China as well. When you have Peter Navarro leading the way no one wins.

What’s the alternative to China directly investing in the Bahamas? The US borrowing the money (from China) so that we can give it the Bahamas? How is that better?

It would depend on what type of deal and/or agreement(s) China could cut with the Bahamas. China’s Belt and Roads initiative intends to spend trillions around the globe.

If we borrow it then it is next to impossible for China to bully us to get it back. Supposedly Venezuela made a really bad deal with China for their oil that extends decades which is one of the many reasons such an oil rich country can't become solvent.
