He presided over what in my opinion was the Golden Age of the league during the 80s and 90s.
I barely recognize the NBA anymore, nobody plays defense, the players are all soft and best buds and the Knicks are the bowels of professional sports.

Larry Brown's Pistons were the best story of Stern's time. The Bulls were the best team. Then someone put him to the Artest....

Don't care about the Knicks.
But I agree with the rest of what you said.
I mean the NBA has turned into a glorified All-Star Game but with 82 games being All-Star games where there is no defense, only offense.
Each night I see the scores like 120 - 125 final or something and I'm remembering how in the past during the 90s that if you got to 100 points before the other team, chances are high that you might win the game.
Now it's a REQUIREMENT to get to 100 to even be COMPETITIVE.
This is why I stopped watching long ago.
David Stern, imo, has to be the most personable (and likeable) commissioner in every U.S. Sport.
We have Bettman (Hockey), Goodell (NFL), Manfred (MLB), and Adam Silver (Current NBA Commissioner and Alien-Looking Motherfucker)....all of them are DESPISED.
David Stern wasn't (all that much...lol)
